I have been using DVD2one but decided to try DVDxcopy Express because it was simpler and eliminated the need to use DVD Decrypter. My question is, why does the movie end up so much smaller with DVDxcopy Xpress 3 than it is with DVD2one? The same movie was a full 4.3 gbs using DVD2one but it was only 1.9 gbs using DVDxcopy Express 3. I selected the same audio and subtitles.

Isn't DVDXCopy Express supposed to be for converting the DVD to put on to two CD's? I think it is. Anyway, try the http://dvdxcopy.afterdawn.com forum.

DVD X Copy is for back up on two DVD's and DVD X Copy Xpress is to rip/squeeze/burn to one DVD.

It all depends on how they compress the movie. But if either backup is suitable for your viewing pleasure, then why does it matter? Go ahead, put it in your player and enjoy! But if the quality of one is better than the other, go ahead and pick the better one for your viewing needs.
Go to this thread for a comparison in software:

When I saw DVD X Copy Express version 3.0 with the ability to 1:1 backup all disk features on a single disk, I ordered it in a heartbeat. Now when they get it to work (like actually PLAY the disk you've backed up, and figure out why version 3.1 is still version 3.0 with a higher decimal point), I'll keeping myself busy with version 2.5.4 which 321.com loaned me, which despite it's partial backup limititations, plays on all 4 DVD drives I own.

Hi all. :)
Mike_W , have you tried DVD Shrink v2.3?
It's free, more flexible than DVDCX, yet friendly. ;)
Info, guides and download can be found here:

Hey ddlooping, you popped in ;-)
I know this is off topic, but have you seen that guy Shiny#3 on your forum, keeps having a go at me on every thread. Actually started a thread just to have a go at me. You had any problems with him?
Cheers
P.S. Agree with the DVD Shrink option (that'l keep the mods happy for me going off topic)

DVDxcopy Express can not copy DVD when the disc region is mis-matched with the drive region, you need use DVD Region-Free to enable it to copy on the fly.
DVDIdle - Extend the lifetime of DVD drive!
DVD Region-Free - Watch & backup all DVDs from any region on region-locked (RPC2) DVD drive!

Well I guess I'll just stick with AnyDVD and DVD2One. The new release of DVD2One v1.3.0 now has the option join a 2 part or more onto 1 disc. I've been waiting for this option and it works perfectly.
