That's the guide I've been using and that's what I was doing. NO LUCK AGAIN. I get an error immediately at 1X. I think I'm going to uninstall Nero and re-install.

I removed and Re-Installed Nero. I went to their site and updated to the 10.42 version. I even checked my DMA setting, which for some reason was on. I changed it to PIO in the primary and the secondary channels. I still came up with an error. I am confused because before, I was getting an error at the end of the burn Process or the contents folder would be copied to the disk. Now I get an error at the intial start of the burnong process. Do I need to re-install the ASPI layers since I re-installed Nero? The DVD Shrink software seems to be working. I am burning the movie at 15% with no extras and re-authoring the beginning/ending credits. I was wondering if you had IM maybe I could walk through with you and see if you can spot something i'm not seeing. I use Trillian, but i can im people who have MSN, YAHOO,AOL. What do u think?

I would suggest trying Chris' suggestion and dowload the free trial of Record Now. It won't cost you anything for the first 30 days, and would be helpful in eliminating Nero as being the problem.

I would like to exhaust all options prior to switching to make sure that Nero is the problem. I checked my ASPI layers and attempted to delete the Adaptec layers and download the Nero version. As I was saving the Nero Layers, I found that Nero 10.42, already had the layers. Could this have been the problem that I had two layer programs? In any event I went to the folder and deleted the Adaptec folder. I attempted to burn the disk again and came up with the same error,"Could not perform Start of Disk-At-Once". I checked and the Finalize DVD & Disc-At-Once was greyed in.

I forgot, It also says invalid field in command, and then the other errors I previously mentioned. Again, I am opening the explorer, going to the folder where I have the DVD Shrink files, in a folder named VIDEO_TS. There is not another subfolder with the name of the movie in it. There are just the files in the VIDEO_TS folder.

I understand; you like one type of software because it hasn't let you down in the past. The question you need to ask yourself is this: how long have you spent exhausting other avenues since Chris mentioned it? How about since I mentioned it.

Downloading RecordNow will take you 15 minutes, and maybe a total of 1 hour to completely try it. And unlike Roxio products you don't have to un-install Nero.

When I troubleshoot I always try the easiest solutions first. Saves me lots of money on Asprin.

I agree with Ken on that one. On another point, even though Nero has its own ASPI layers, they are contained within the program. You should install teh adaptec ones anyway.

I downloaded the trial version of RecordNow and followed the directions-Success. On the computer and my stand alone. So I guess the problem was Nero. How are so many users able to get it to work for them,I'll never know. Now the ? is how to pay for the "real version. Is there a freeware burning title u would suggest. I was thinking of upgraded for another project and the money would take away from that.In any event, thanks for the time and patience.

Just when u thought it was safe to go in the water.... I have a good picture, but on the last to sessions, I have no audio I am using the user guide instructions. Just for my on info, in the Volume Label section, is this where you can put the name of the dvd, so the title is displayed in the dvd drive?

FOUND IT! I was clicking the the 6 ch for audio and no 2 ch. this works fine on my Home theater with the 5.1+sub but for a television/computer, these components don't have decoder to split channels. The answer just came to me out of no where. Thanks again for the help and the site!

Glad you got it sorted. However, there should be sound even when selecting the 6 channel audio and not the 2ch as well.

Unless of course, you select DTS instead of Dolby Digital.

I understand that you use Nero for burning cd's, but when I used the trial version of RecordNow,it worked with Nero on my computer. When I purchased and installed RecordNow Max, it stated that it was incapatable with Nero and I had to delete Nero from my computer. I finally got to this point and I don't want to screw anything up, but how are you using Nero for burning CD'S if it's software is clashing with RecordNow?
