I glad you were able to figure it out..Congratulations on your successful downgrade...You can now find a custom firmware like 3.40OE-A to install which will allow you to play games from the memory stick as well as having the current features that official sony firmware has to offer..You probably already noticed that the 1.50 firmware is pretty plain with not too many features..So it would be best to upgrade.

Deez Nuts:

I had 2.71 with TA-082. I used the program at the start of this thread, followed all the instructions exactly and it all seemed to go well until it said press "X" to restart. After this there was supposed to be a blue screen and I was supposed to press "O" after which I should have been downgraded to 1.5. Instead after I pressed "X" the screen just stayed black and the power LED light would not go off. I have to hold the power button down for something like 8 seconds to get the LED light just to shut off. When I start it up again it stays black. I tried the brightness button and every other button but the screen remains black and I don't hear any sound when I turn it on. Is this PSP bricked?

Yeah, that sounds like a brick....It seems that you have tried pretty much everything to revive it..Have you pulled the battery out and let it sit out for a while? But if you are not getting any sounds when it boots up-its definitely bricked..I am not familiar with that particular downgrader that is in this thread..I know there is a similar one to it that just runs from the game menu...I think this one uses a tiff exploit that you open from the photo menu..?

But try the battery...Thats about all I can suggest. Looks like you'll have to find another psp, or invest in a modchip

Hey guys. I have a psp with the ta-082 mobo, and it came with firmware 2.60. Should I follow the advice that DeezNutz gave to Pacyao? Also, do I need Lumines or something else to do this?? Thanks in advance

@fugazi16- You dont need Lumines in your case, you can just upgrade to fw version 2.71 by using this update -Then, head over to here and scroll down to where it says "2.71 PSP (TA-82 or TA-86)" and click "show"...it will have the instructions as well as links to the files you need..Unless of course you already have a copy of GTA:Liberty City Stories that is unpatched (2.00 fw update on the disc) then you could use the 2.50/2.60 easy downgrader..But if you dont have the game, then just use the update and downgrader that I posted...

by the way Deez, when I get it to 1.50 firmware, do you recommend I upgrade to 3.40oe?? If so, where would I find this upgrade? Thanks again, you are PSP God!!!

Well not quite a God, but I do know a thing or two...Thanks for that!

Yes, I recommend using 3.40OE..I use it myself, and you can always upgrade to a higher custom fw should your games require an update..I haven't run into any games that require a fw higher than what I am using yet-plus I like to mess around with custom themes and icons, which you cant really do just yet with that 3.51/52M33 fw..

You can find your custom fw winstaller located here

Good Luck

After I run the 1.5 enabler I try and find UPDATE X.YZ, but I can't find it. I go to game, then memory card and I see the 1.5 enabler and under that it has a box that says "corrupted data". Any help would be appreciatted.

No sweat...Good luck on your downgrade..You must have figured out that you needed to rename the "eboot" to "update" huh?

Yeah, exactly. LOL. I have now sucessfully upgraded to 3.40oe and I am now ready to play iso games. The problem is, I don't know what to do now. I have downloaded an iso game, but does anyone know what I need to do now to play it on my PSP?? Thanks.

I really should look first before I post a question (DUH). LOL. I found some info on here in another forum. Apparently I just have to make an iso folder in the root of the memory card and copy the iso game to there. To get no-UMD mode, I guess I just hold the left button while doing a "cold start", go to configuration and them select the run no UMD mode. I just wanted to say thank you very much Deez, you have been a huge help, and I really apreciatte your time.

Your welcome...And congratulations on your successful downgrade/upgrade...

You actually should format your memory stick from the psp system settings menu..It will clear out those downgrader files, as well as create the proper file directory on your memory stick..I would recommend doing that rather than just making an ISO folder- And to clarify, its the R trigger button while powering up from a cold boot to get into recovery...

How did you fully brick your PSP? is it with the 3.52 M33-2 update?

psplife: Ceramic White 2.71 TA-082> 1.5> 3.03OE-C> installed custom themes> semibricked on the 3rd try> 1.5> 3.30OE-A> 3.10OE-A'> 3.03OE-C> 3.40 OE-A> 3.52 M33 > 3.52 M33 update 4 > 3.71M33 > 3.71M33-3

Hi guys!

I followed the instructions on this thread and successfully did my lil kid's ta-082 psp
downgraded then installed the 3.40 OE-A firmware

thanks!

now I'm trying to do my daughter's psp but when I run the downgrader I get a message that This PSP does not appear to be TA-082

can I downgrade this one to run just like my son's with the 3.40 OE-A firmware, or does that only work with the TA-082?

Thanks!
