A friend of mine has a PSP that has 3.40 EO-A..will i need to borrow his psp to convert my extra battery to a pandora box? ..i was reading the guided and got concerned about..this

10) Now download this pack from http://igizmore.blogspot.com/2007/08/mak...tery-magic.html , extract it with WinRar and copy the PSP folder and the UPDATE.PBP to the ROOT of the PSP memory stick . If you you have a 1.5 PSP no problem , If you have Custom Firmware make sure you turn on the 1.5 kernel mode .

Do...I need to put my freinds psp in recovery mode and then to 1.5 kennel mode or is it already at that with the 3.40 EO-A firmware.

Depends on what kernel he is running it at. You will need to check and make sure it is in 1.50.

Make sure when you run the Pandora creator for the first time you press Triangle so you save your battery EEPROM. That way after you downgrade your PSP's to 1.50 you can recover the battery you used for the Pandora Battery.

To recover the battery keep the Pandora Battery out of the PSP. Plug the PSP into the AC Adapter charger and turn the PSP on. When the PSP boots place the Magic Memory Stick in then the Pandora Battery. Now run the Pandora Creator again and this time press L & R at the same time which will recover the battery to normal (You will get an error 0x42 something like that which is normal).

I have two PSP's one is version 3.01 and the other is 2.81 both have the TA 082 MOBO. I tried using the tutorial mentioned on earlier pages..and I get stuck on the RAND Part.(the Rand images are there (e.g. one has many pixels. the other says corrupted). Both PSP don't do anything. I do exactly what the tutorial says. 1. reformat (MS) 2. Default settings 3. Run the installer to the PSP. 3. rename and then copy the 1.5 eboot file.

You are stuck because you are using the wrong downgrader-you said you are trying to downgrade a 2.81 and a 3.01?? The problem is, you are using the 2.71 downgrader....ooops! Have a look HERE scroll to "-2.81-3.03 Any Motherboard"-click show and follow those instructions instead...This will require you having an unpatched copy of GTA:LCS-unpatched has the v2.0 update on it...Otherwise you can update both to 3.50fw and downgrade using the unpatched Lumines game...Also Pandora's battery is an option as well...Find someone w/ a PSP that is already on 1.50 or custom fw and have them make you a battery to downgrade with...Before you ask,INSTRUCTIONS FOR PANDORA BATTERY ARE STICKIED ON THE FIRST PAGE OF THIS FORUM...

**EDIT** looks like I should have clicked the "post reply" sooner and not walked away from my computer...sorry to repeat

Update to a custom firmware 3.40 OE-A or 3.52 M33-4.

3.52 M33-4 is the latest version you can get the files you need below. Make sure you install the 3.52 M33 before running the 3.52 M33-4 update.

3.52 M33 HERE

3.52 M33-4 HERE

3.52 firmware HERE

1.50 firmware HERE

Here is a mini-guide

Download the 3.52 M33 CFW linked above. Extract the file.

Download both the 1.50 and 3.52 firmware. You need to re-name the 3.52 firmware to 352.PBP the 1.50 firmware to 150.PBP. Then add them to the M33CREATOR folder.

Format the MS with PSP.

Now copy the M33CREATOR folder and the kxploitpatcher and kxploitpatcher% folders to the PSP MS directory of ms0:/PSP/GAME folder.

Now go to Game Menu Memory Stick and run the KXploit Permanent Patcher. It should run and say patched successfully and reboot back to the XMB.

Now go to game Menu Memory Stick and run the M33CREATOR.

After you run the M33CREATOR it should reboot back to the XMB. It should have created a 3.52 M33 update which you need to select in the Game Menu Memory Stick.

It will flash the files to the PSP and you should be at 3.52 M33 firmware.

Check to see if you have 3.52 M33 firmware by going to system settings. If you do format your MS.

Now extract the 3.52 M33-4 update.

Drag the PSP folder inside that update folder into the root of the MS overwriting the files when it asks you to. Now go to Game Menu Memory Stick and run the m33-4 update. This will only take a few seconds.

After the update is finished check and make sure it says 3.52 M33-4 for firmware. If it does say 3.52 m33-4 then format the MS 1 more time.

You are now updated to 3.52 M33-4.

You don't need to worry about the seplugin folder in the 3.52 M33-4 update if your not going to play PSX games. If you are then let me know and I will explain what that plugin is all about.

@FreeFall1

Take out the Battery and MS of the PSP you want to downgrade.

Now insert the Pandora battery in the PSP the power led should come on. Now insert the Magic memory stick. The WiFi and USB leds should blink and a menu screen should come up (If the menu doesn't come up hit the brightness button)

Now Press X to downgrade and follow the on screen Instructions and you will be at 1.50 in no time.

I recommend going to 3.52 M33 then to M33-4. But the choice is up to you.

Since you have 2 add 3.40 OE-A to 1 of them and 3.52 M33 then 3.52 M33-4 to the other and see which 1 you like better.

You can always switch the PSP CFW version to the other once you find out which 1 you like better.

Try setting the frame skip in the Emulator a little higher.

didn't try..that..i was setting it at lower skip rates..at one point i set it to zero.(e.g. that should tell you how much of a noob I am)..thanks..for the great advice..

P.S...I got cute..and formatted my magic stick (pandora stick) and forgot that I needed it to return the battery back to normal mode..grrr..I seen videos where all i need to do is plug the a.c adapter first to get the battery working..but was hoping there was an easier way..I did backup the battery though, but magic stick is gone.

You do have a copy of Lumines correct? You need it to boot HEN so you can run the downgrader programs.

Start off by formating your MS.

Then download and extract the 3.11 downgrader.

Now drag the PSP folder that is inside the MS_ROOT folder of the downgrader to the root of your PSP MS. If you do this correctly it should ask to over write select YES TO ALL (All your doing is replacing the PSP folder thats in the MS_ROOT with the PSP folder on your MS).

Now download the 1.50 official firmware and extract it then rename it to UPDATE.PBP and place it in the ms:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE/ folder.

Now start the Lumines game The screen will clear to black and fill with a light blue color, then the PSP will reset itself.

Go to system settings and make sure your running 311 HEN.

If your running 311 HEN go to the Game Menu memory Stick and run x.yz update. If you have a TA-082 or higher motherboard it will prompted to allow the downgrader to patch your motherboard. You need to do this step before the Downgrader can continue so let it patch the Motherboard.

Before it flashes it will ask if you agree Press R to exit if you don't or press X if you do to proceed with the downgrade.

When its done it will ask you to Press X to restart.

If it comes up saying that the settings are corrupt, press x to continue and do the below...

Load the included NetConfigBackup application in your PSP, and select to restore, this will take the backup that was done of the network config that was done automatically during the downgrade.

If the BSOD doesn't come up then your finished.

If it didn't ask to over write then you didn't drag the folder to the root directory.

If you dragged it to the MP_ROOT folder then you did it wrong. You need to drag it to the root. Your replacing the PSP folder in the downgrader with the ms0:/PSP folder on the PSP MS.

I sent you a Private Message.

/PSP/GAME150 folder

If you place them int the /PSP/GAME folder then you will need to change the kernel to 1.50 in recovery. If you place them in the /PSP/GAME150 folder you wont need to do this.
