- Download (single card) has mixed success with m3ds simply. Download (multi-card), I have found works better. Eg, Animal Crossing multi-card, works every time no problem, but single card ones I ahve had many problems.
As for your videos, they need to be DPG format to be played by the Moonshell media player, you'll find all the conversion tools in any download of "Moonshell with DPG tools". As for where they go, it doesn't really matter as you can navigate in Moonshell, however to keep thing tidy, I tend to use separate directories in the root called MUSIC, MOVIES etc..

I did have it happen one or two times, but not recently. Be careful not to overfill the card - I once filled one then it had no room to create the save files and crashed. Also, I don't know if it's the solution, but I always STOP my sd/usb adapter before removing from PC - I've corrupted usb memory stiks in the past by pulling them out without stopping them, so now I stop everything (using Safely Remove Hardware)

Hi Mr. Hanky. Just curious, what was eBay's actual reasoning for pulling the M3 Simply from eBay?

Hi.
I have a question thats been bugging me..
is it possible 2 get the saves off my normal ds cards onto the m3 simply and vice-versa?
its just ive finished quite a few games that i would like to have on the simply. what i was planning to do, was have my entire game library (and some others) on the one card.
So.. is that (Normal DS Card Save --> M3 Simply & M3 Simply --> Normal DS Card) possible?
I have an action replay Gba/Ds max, so i can backup my saves (except pokemon diamond. does anyone know how to backup that save?) in that way. is it possible to convert them from action replay format to .sav and vice versa?
Also, do you need the DS browser extra memory thingymabob to use it?
Thanks! :)

You might be able to backup your saves using REIN (google it) however I am not sure if it works with the Simply.
You can also convert saves using the M3DSS Save Transformer (available on the M3 website) though I am not sure if it is compatible with Action Replay saves.

im havin a look now.. also, do you hav a link to the m3 simply version of moonshell 1.71?
oh, and the link on the first page, how do i download the files?
Ok. ignore everything, i got it.
all i need to know, does the moonshell's .nds root file need to be called _DS_MSHL.NDS? i installed 1.71, and deleted all the .NDS's that were not for ds simply. does it have to be named that for the main menu to recognise it?
thanks! :)

Hi, yes it needs to be named that for you to be able to load it with the "Media" icon in the main menu.
You can load ti via the "Game" menu under any name.

Nice to know I'm still competitive at 40 GBP PLUS delivery. Except I take the effort to install the latest menu firmware, themes and moonshell, which means I work more to earn less. ho hum. but my customers are happy.

I have been using my DS Simply for over 2 months now and have even converted a few family and friends over to it. We all think it's a really cool thing to have. My questions though (if anyone can tell me outright that is) what would I need to get in order to read some of my actual games and have my own back-up roms? Also I would like to know what I could use to make my actual games saves available. Is it a matter of finding the save on the game and just calling a .sav file?

To backup your own games you need a slot-2 device, you can backup your own games using a program called "dumper.nds" and a M3CF (recommended) and after some effort any other M3 (SD/MiniSD/Lite)
I have been told you can also backup games using the nitro firmware and any CF based slot-2 device (M3CF/Supercard CF/GBAMPv2 CF)
Saves can be copied from your cards using REIN.

Once again Mr_Hankey, you have done it again!! Your tutorials have always been on the money and you are right to the point on all things DS Simply that it's amazingly scarey. I commend you and look forward to learning more from you and this site.

Quote: Another question. does m3dss have a multiple theme thing by pressing select?
Yes, though my guess is you read something like that somewhere already "by pressing select" kinda makes it a rather precise question :P
In the _system_ folder create another called themes, in that create folders called theme01, theme02, etc. You can then stick the standard theme files in these.
Quote: also, how do i select my cheats (i allready made the file and its in the right place)?
If you have created the file correctly you can slect the cheats by Pressing 'Y' when the game is highlighted (also it shows a box on the touch screen which Says "Cheats 'Y'" or somthing similar

ROMs do not need to be DLDI patched, but any homebrew app/game that accesses the MicroSD for reading additional files or saving requires DLDI.
I have just tried savesender but it obviously dosn't like my network. Looks like it would be a good app for those who need it though. I'll stick to using my M3CF for backup of saves.
