These problems with these fans and the 360 aren't new buy any means, and to those who bought them and now have damaged goods, you guys should be able to get your money back or a replacement or something- otherwise band together and raise some hell.

Forget about these little fans that hook onto the 360. I've got one of those old fans with the stand. It beats the little inter-coolers because it has a lot more power, doesn't blow the air right back into the console, and best of all: on hot days it can heat both me and the 360.

Get yourself one of these big babys:

I hope so - those things cost too damn much to be replacing on your own dime.

and according to M$ it voids your warrenty! Nyko claims they will replace your console, but I doubt I will live to see the day!

My console still works though! If they will replace it with a New Console and let me keep my old one that would be nice... because my warrenty is void with Microsoft now! I might get lucky, then I can crack open this one and put a Wisper fan on it and have a back up if it dies, becuase my warrenty is already voided, and put the outher one downstairs to stream video to! This could work out well, but I doubt it!

In all fairness, Nyko should offer to either replace the inter-cooler or give you a refund; I'm not sure how you could get a new console out of this. It will be good if Nyko do replace consoles that their product wrecked; and M$ didn't tell you to put the inter-cooler on; so, that makes them hardly liable, right?

But, M$ didn't tell you this would void your warrenty! And they are saying it dose! Nyko also states it will replace broken consoles! I feel that they owe me a new console that has a warrenty, because their product voided my warrenty, I will so what they say tomarow!

The problem is that somewhere in the 360's manual, it will say something along the lines of, "3rd party products non supported my Microsoft will void your warranty and we will not be held liable because we lack the testicular fortitude to own up to our own mistakes, etc."

I do believe they owe you a new console. Just make sure you ask to speak to the brass rather than the initial employee who will answer your call and want to end it just as quickly because he couldn't care less.

Another thing you should do - I know this works with burger companies - is demand more compensation than just a new console. I don't know much about Nyko so I haven't a clue what else they manufacture, but if they have something good then say you want one of those too. If they are stubborn, say you have lawyers- the ravenous kind, who haven't sued a victim for longer than they can remember, and would be more than willing to take Nyko - Nyko? What sort of stupid name is that! - to court.

whats cuaseign the frying? are the fans tryign to pull more jucie than the plug/connection can ahndle?

if you are a case modder you could always take it apart remove the pins from the plug and rout power threw a cheap 9-12V under 1A AC/DC adapter altho it might be easier to gt a laptop fan block...mmmmmm

I am posting a thread about 360 build suggestions ,I if I can score all the parts but the a complete mobo unit for under 40,I could build a 360 for under 200, anyway post here so the thread dosent get derailed.

I have had a Nyko fan on for months, since I bought my 360 in October infact. Just checked the back, no signs of browning, looks good as new. The fan is noisy when it starts up, but then it quiets down, and it works great. It shall be staying on my 360. BTW, are all these people that are having there 360's scored in the US?Maybe its a problem with the 110V or something, because I am in the UK on 240V and its no prob.

Uummm the brink translates the current 110/220 into what the system uses I doubt ti would be it,more like either the Fan has bad quality control or the 360 since tis known to have iffy quality control.

I wouldn't its a 20$ device that has a 30% chance to fry a 300$ system...

What I think is its either the plug either device or the power supplied to it or the fans drawing to much power,it could be just a mix of that lovely questionable china quality we have all come to love that is causing it a mix of things perhaps,if anything its enough for me not to use it and I have read other exturnal fan units draw more than the 360 can give, plus the exturnal ports on the 360 are not meant to be used for power hungry fans.

I dck around with allot of things when I am adjuratimg a PS2(haveign it out of case and such and powering it to test it) I have a 40X40 and 80X80MM fans adapted to run off a DC adpter for cooling so I understand basic volt/wiring.

I am unsure what the amp/volt is for internal 360 fans I know the power distro system is....meek so I dunno what I will do with my mod just yet.
