i have a jap ps3 and yes i will agree that there will be a fix PAL-ntcs as so many imports are in eu that they will loose out on game sales if they didnt also i play resistance fall of man add me to your buddies (hinkman2007) and has any one ever got ingame voice to work as i registered a blutooth headset but during game i cant comunicate with any one speak or hear??????

should i go for US or JAP PS3?i know theyre both NTSC, just wanna know from u guys exp which one is better. in any aspect.....

isit true that HK version of PS3 can support NTSC and PAL?coz from wat i heard the patch for these system is only comin this spring....
any other opinions on JAP vs. US???

Heya Kids,
Was going around the web while looking for some nice spots to import ps3 games into the uk.
I do some work outsourced work for a sony development company and can tell you that the EU ps3 that I have been playing with pre launch is running the american and jappy games fine as well as the "PAL" ones
From what I can tell you the ps3 released in the EU will already have software installed to allow you to play imported games and the Japanese and US ps3's will be getting this update on launch day.
Sonys offical line on this is due to changing world markets and adaptation of existing products (which I guess means that since most Blu-ray Dvd players play any region so we better aswell)
If you have any questions for the guys I work for then I would be happy to pass them on for you (however please email me aswell, as I doubt I will be checking back here very often)

You would be so lucky the skanks only game me a console I had to import controllers and the damn cables to plug it into my tv (im suprised they gave me a power cord)

There will be less games released within the EU, but this will not be the fault of sony
Also looking at amazon US there are allot more games available in the US than their are in the EU for the 360
This is due to most game manufacturors not shipping to the EU. They say this is due to the multitute of different languages within the EU, but I believe its that the EU games market is allot less diverse than those of the US or Asia

Are you doing it on a European PS3 because I heard they were definitely multi-zoned. The PAL fix people were talking about wasnt released in the last update was it? I have it installed on my jap PS3 but havent tried a UK Game yet.

When i tried to play the euro game on the jap ps3 it said it required an update and if i wanted to update now(i assume the update was on the disk). I updated and when i rebooted my ps3 the game wouldnt play.

Yo people i am getting confused with the DVD regions and Pal/NTSC games thing. I just want a simple answer.
Can I play english games on a Jap PS3. Forget about the DVD's i just want to know about games.

after the 1.60 update i am playing jap, usa and uk games on my japanese ps3 console, so my opinion yes they do play

yeah me too,Jap PS3 playing PAL and NTSC games no problem (PS3 games taht is) blue ray movies still region locked ..but who give a F#### its game player

should do, only thing US PS3 will be 110v as UK is 230/240 so you will need a step down convertor and ofcourse the power plug is different , other than that the cables hooking up to the TV (including HDMI ) should be fine, have got the US PS uit if not get a Jap one

Hi, can you please let us know if you can play UK PS2 games on US PS3 perfectly, or not working at all?
All I know is that PS3 is region-free for Games only.
But I haven't heard and I can't find anything about playing UK PS2 games on US PS3 (or even Jap PS3). Is PS2 game region-lock on PS3 or not?
Can anyone please answer that? Or can anyone please test those for us potential PS3 buyer?
