the ps3 is only back compatable with ps1/ps2 games from the same country so
usa is only usa ps1/ps2
uk is only uk ps1/ps2
cause none of my ps2 games work on my usa ps3

ps1/ps2 games are still regeion locked you can not play PAL/UK games on a us machine or a jap machine. or any other regeion of ps1/ps2 game on any other system.
usa is only usa ps1/ps2
uk is only uk ps1/ps2
and so on. only ps3 games are regeion free.

but who gives a F### about PS2 games anyway there are heaps of PS3 games out there and coming out soon and you can buy them from any country in the world and they will play on your PS3....aint that enough

Thats enough for me i aint really looking to get my ps2 games working on my ps3, i have fight night and resistance fall of man on ps3 thats enough for me for the moment until GT5 or HD's out.:>

You have a good point there but again, there are some incredible games out on PS1 and PS2 games.
For instance, GTA1, GTA2, GTA3 and GTA4, and MGS1, MGS2 and MGS3 are PS1 or PS2 games.
I would not like to throw these excellent games away at all. I would like to play those whenever possible.
Because of that, I am not throwing my fat PS2 away at all, even though I get PS3 soon. I hope that there will be a software or loader coming out soon for PS3 to play PS1 and PS2 games regardless of what region they are in.
Ah well, I better make some floor room to accompany both my PS2 and PS3 :)

My question is...If i live in the USA...and get a PAL version ps3 ...will it play Gmaes bought in the USA. Also..will it play the DVD and BLUE RAY DVD's bought in the USA ?? Thanks!

Your PAL PS3 will play all regions of PS3 games.
It will not play NTSC DVDs or Blu-Rays.
Also this might be a very stupid question but WHY are you getting a PAL PS3 when you live in the USA,it dosnt make any sense,they are a lot cheaper in America.

Yes it will work in the UK, PS3 games are currently not region encoded.

Yes it will work in the UK, PS3 games are currently not region encoded.
Just clarify something in above quote.
You can play any PS3 game (from anywhere) on PS3 OFFLINE (i.e. when you are not playing those online).
BUT
You can't play PS3 games on your PS3 ONLINE if they are from different region, when you want to play online because the network part of any game are Region-locked!!.
In other words, if your game is USA PS3 game, and your PS3 is UK, then you can't play that game online due to different region locked.
Is that clear?
