i think i tried to turn it off, while downloading then it wont turn off, instead it was a black screen

yeah u bricked ur psp and there is no getting it back. whenever an update is running you can not shut it off.

EDIT:
Well the best method would be to buy a new motherboard. The U.P modchip is expensive, and unless ur good at soldering ur gonna spend a few bucks paying someone to install it.

hey i just bought an japan imported psp pink with firmware 2.81 and i want to downgrade it to a 1.5 so that i can use emulators...can anyone help me plz..?

hey thanx hexitnow! this fw 3.03OE - c is awasome man. I installed it in my psp and it worked. now, the count has began and the sony is going down man!! i even installed in my friends psp and you can count on mine...

i couldn't find any downgrader for the fw2.81 but here's one for fw2.80 hope fully this works out for you. here's the site for it http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/974 you should try out this with your own risk and the PSP board shouldn't be TA-082 got it. I suggest you to take some more suggestion with HexITnow, he is just best this this kinda things.

devild use my recovery winstaller to install the recover files for going back to 1.50. Why do u want to go back tho? You can pretty much anything a 1.5 can plus ALOT more.

Popstation is a word for PSX games you play on PSP. There is alot of different interpretations for the word

pops = is wat is installed with the firmware that plays the games on your PSP
popstation's = the games
