Thanks man u rock
When you load up Devhook 0.51 for 2.71, you should see an option that says Flash Install. Go to that and do the one that says install configfile to flash1:. Make sure you have about 50% of battery left. This won't brick your PSP since it only flashes for 1 second and it doesn't flash where you firmware memory is. The only way you'll get a brick is if you're PSP happens to turn off during that 1 second of flashing. So make sure you're battery doesn't run out and make sure nothing touches that power button. And I just edited my instructions on my first page. Go to http://www.sendspace.com/file/k7eimk and download the zip. Once the download is finished, extract it. Once you do that, you should see a folder called 311. Take that folder and put it in your dh folder.
My PSP Firmware History: 2.60 had to return the PSP because it had a dead pixel > new PSP had firmware 2.71 > 1.5 > 3.52 M33 > 3.52 M33-4 > 3.71 M33 > 3.71 M33 with 1.50 kernel

Is this the same 311 dump you uploaded a few posts ago, or is it something different B? I'm wondering because I still can't get it to work by following your steps with all the files you suggest in those steps. If you have done something diff. with the 311 download I will try it again. Thanks.

It's the same dump. I don't know why it's not working for you guys. You just install Devhook 0.51 for 2.71, then add the files you get from a Devhook 0.52 download (all the files except the ones you put in game), then you do the Devhook 0.52.0100 update.

I am going to try when I get a few minutes alone with the computer, but how easy was downgrading? I have only ever considered DH and flashing the firmware. Wrong forum, but what's involved in downgrading?

I hear downgrading is quite easy. I've always been tempted to downgrade but then I realized, why take the risk of losing $200+ when I can just use Devhook for homebrew and ISOs/CSOs. The only reason why I want to downgrade is to use custom firmware. And the only reason why I want to use custom firmware is for free PSX games. But then if I really want to play PSX games on my PSP, I can always go and ask my brother if I can use his PS3 so I can download PSX games to my PSP which is emulating 3.11, or I can just download a PSX emulator. Anyways, back to your question. What's involved in downgrading. All downgrading is is putting folders in GAME, load those things in GAME after you've loaded up a homebrew enabler (HEN). Once you load those things in GAME, it will start flashing the firmware 1.5 over your regular firmware, and if it does end up successful, you'll have firmware 1.5. Though, downgrading may give you a corrupt firmware and make your PSP bricked. Even if after you've done the downgrade and you can use firmware 1.5, that doesn't mean you're 1.5 is a perfect one. There may be some errors with the firmware even if you can use it.

No, when you do the Flash Install for Devhook, you're not writing to Flash 0 or anything, you're just writing 1 KB of information for Devhook, this won't ruin your firmware or anything. It's completely safe. Just make sure your PSP's battery doesn't run out and that nothing touches the Power button.

Sorry for asking in this thread but got no answer in the other one :)
DEAR BrendanL,
1- Is there any difference in the final outcome between ur way below and PSPHOBBY's way below urs????
2- I followed PSPHOBBY's way I now emulate 3.11 OK. But I have a Corrupted Data icon under Game in XMB is there anyway to remove this???
BrendanL WAY::
Now instead of doing the rest of the things PSPHobby did, do this instead.
(Just makes things easier). Extract the zip from http://www.sendspace.com/file/k7eimk. You'll find a folder called 311. Place the 311 folder in your dh folder and overwrite. Then load up Devhook 0.51, select 3.11 firmware then press Start Devhook. You should be emulating 3.11.
-----------------
-----------------
PSPHOBBY WAY::
Now downloaded the Firmware 3.11 EBOOT.rar http://dl.qj.net/PSP-Firmware-3.11-PSP/pg/12/fid/12601/catid/163 and extract it.
Copy the EBOOT.PBP on to your PSP.
Now download DevHook Firmware Installer v0.6f http://dl.qj.net/DevHook-Firmware-Instal...13091/catid/151
Copy 4 folders from /1.5 Eboots/MS_ROOT/PSP/Game to YourPSP:/PSP/GAME
OK Now go game and go to Devhook Firmware Installer. Press Circle. (IT becomes reversed after enabling 1.50)

Hey PSPHobby, I did it your way. It emulates 3.11 pretty well, but for some reason the saves won't save. For example, when playing Virtua Tennis, It just stays on the save screen and nothing happens. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem or if it was just me. If someone knows why this is happening, please help me fix this. Thanks in advance!

I don't know why that occurs. You can save but if you go to sleep mode while playing a game, and then returning to the game and trying to save it won't work. But if you go to sleep mode when you are in the XMB, and return to the XMB, you can start a game and save. This is an error that occured for 0.52.0100 for 1.5 users and 2.71 users.

Ah okay, I'm on 2.71 so that might be why. So basically I just shouldn't make my PSP sleep while playing a game. Do you know if this issue will be addressed in the next DevHook?
