I'll upload the memory stick anyways for anyone else who wants to do it later. If the link goes bad, just post here, I've "subscribed" to this thread, so yeah.

it just shuts off. I copied your firmware directly to my folder, I load devhook 0.51 beta and I then load 3.11 and it just black screens then shuts off. Nothing ever goes right for me! I also have devhook 0.46 and devhook .4X Is that a problem? can anyone help?

Did you run HEND? What you need to do is open up your UMD, go to images, choose HEND. It should go blue then green. This means that it worked. If it goes red or stays blue, just restart the PSP. Then go to Game>Memory Stick>DevHook .51 Beta for 2.71 It should work, if not just reply.

Thanks for your contribution but lol I'm no noob. Matter of fact the post I made above yours clearly states that AFTER loading .51 and selecting 3.11. I get blackscreen. Without HEND I wouldn't have been able to get their >_>.
Thanks for your effort anyway.

Well I copied his memory stick to mine and well his psp is now my psp but his devhook doesn't show up which tells me he used another method other then direct boot from 2.71 anyway then I installed my devhook 0.51 with his settings and got the notorious devhook without a menu >_>
I'm serious I just can't freak'n win. I'm going to bed I will be up to check this thread in the morning. thanks everyone for your assistance.

Here's what I suggest if you're not getting a menu, cause it works fine on my 4gb memory stick. Copy pasta your current stick onto your hard drive on the computer to make a backup (in case for some reason it doesn't work on yours). Then unrar mine onto yours and put an iso that you want to play in the iso folder. Do all that mumbo jumbo and then launch .51 BETA for 2.71. When launching the game, choose 3.11 firmware and launch the iso. Try that and tell me how it goes. I'll be at work tomorrow again, so I don't know how much help I'll be, since I won't have my PSP with me, but I think that should do it.

Ok i got all the devhooks to show up this time but I still get blackscreen after loading the firmware. Its like theres something wrong with the firmware. I heard somewhere that you must install it on your own psp because its signed to your psp or something so if you can tell me how you installed it or what you used to install it that might work for me.

...huh...well I don't know why it doesn't work for you, although it may be that it registers based on PSP? I don't know, and that's probably not it, but it worked fine on my PSP. If you do find a way that works, just tell me, I'll think about this for a bit, and reply when I've thought of an answer. I'm at work, so I don't have my PSP so I can't do testing, but yeah.

Well did you try just loading an iso to see if that works?
btw, my last post was in response to the post where you said you got corrupted data, not what you just said, kind of weird, eh?

If I remember correctly, I believe I downloaded the firmware from another site, and didn't use the EBOOT from this forum. However, I'm not sure if this is what I actually did, since I spent many hours trying to figure it out. I believe I have the page bookmarked at my house, so when I get back home I'll look into it. Hopefully I bookmarked it.

Thanks. Its weird I tried everything. It loads 1.50 from your .4X devhook but when I load 3.11 form your .51 devhook it just blanks out and the little light doesn't even flash like it normally would when reading.

I got it to work!! for people who are having the same problem as me
Assuming you have HEND just install devhook .51 BETA and Devhook 4X
Then grab a copy of 1.5 firmware and place it in the dh>150 folder and select yes to overwrite. From there follow there go to devhook .4X and load firmware 1.5 then follow this tutorial http://forums.exophase.com/showthread.php?t=295
Follow steps 3-7.
Then hard reboot your psp by holding the power button off turn it back on run HEND then run Devhhook .51 BETA for 2.71 and then select firmware 3.11. The psp will load the firmware however you will get a crash screen, which I did but its harmless if you see the devhook menu pop up over the crash screen select close devhook and press o. The firmware will then ask you to setup date time ect. ect.
There you go!

IMPORTANT NOTE! any changes you make in the 3.11 firmware seemed to effect my 2.71 settings including background theme and date/time and nickname. Just thought I would let you guys know.

Nice, you should probably copy pasta the parts of that link into a single post, in case the tutorial over there changes, which was the case on the another post from a while back. I guess my stuff didn't work then... :( lol oh well

Wow! I can't believe people are still posting in this thread. Anyways, if someone does have Devhook working with 3.11, you can't just upload Devhook and the Devhook files off from your memory stick because when you install Devhook, the files are changed and written for your PSP and only yours. I don't know why people are having so much problems with installing Devhook. All you have to do is get 3.01 working. Then when you've finished that, you put the 311 dump folder in the dh folder. I found a copy of the dh folder on my computer and it has all the files needed to emulate 3.11 but I can't remember if the files were written for my PSP. But there's no way to check so there's no harm in trying. Wait. What's a site that will allow me to upload a folder?

Oh I didn't know devhook was specific to PSP when it's installed. You can use filefront or putfile to upload stuff...both are free.
