Stranger Than Fiction is one of those Columbia/Sony movies.
Latest Versions of AnyDVD and CloneDVD did the trick for me.

My method in my signature worked as usual. No problems here!

Is it the normal new Sony encryption errors?

Latest AnyDVD to rip > VOBB to blank the unwanted on a DVD > Shrink to compress > ImgBurn to burn = Never starting a thread asking how to backup a movie

Shrink with Any DVD won't work. DVD Fab Platinum had some issues also. Nero recode with Any DVD won't work either.

Clone DVD with Any DVD does work. Latest version of Ripit4me (1.7.0.0)works also with Shrink and DVD Decrypter. after some slight changes like raising the limit of output VOB to 300 etc.

DVD Shrink wouldn't even recognize my copy. I had to use Nero Recode2,main movie only, along with AnyDVD 6.1.2.5

Nearly the same encryption as Saw3,grudge2,and open season.

ripit4me, running the files thru fixvts/shrink/imgburn did this one easy. ripit4me took about one hour but, it gave me very clean files.

Nero Recode2 or Shrink using deep analysis and AEC/ fabdecrypter or anydvd running in the background/ IMGBurn to burn/main movie only mode= perfect.

OK-now I feel stupid. I have been using AnyDVD with shrink for quite a while. Is the AnyDVD ripper new??? Just found it now, and it's ripping stranger than fiction to the hd. After that, I open the video ts folder in shrink??

no the AnyDVD ripper isn't new its been around over 6 months or so

yes thats correct open the folder in DVD Shrink , or use CloneDVD 2 to transcode. BUT if your going to use CloneDVD to transcode your better off just running AnyDVD behind CloneDVD 2 and NOT using the ripper

Shrink still wouldn't recognize the video ts folder that the AnyDVD ripper created. I downloaded dvdfabdecrypter and ran the main movie through that. It was only 4.1 gig, so then I burned with Nero. I had no idea what I was doing, but it worked. Just watched the backup with no problems.
