I also had problems with Casino Royale. I stuck it in and my DVD drive wouldn't even show up. I had just got done backing up The Departed and it worked just fine. But now my computer doesn't even know it has a DVD Drive.

@SCEvan
Just to add to 300bowlers great advice on ripping w/ AnyDVD then Shrink - do movie only in reauthor mode. Won't handle the full disc.
But there are no specials features on disc one - just previews.
What version of Fab are you using? 3.0.8.6?. Just rip w/ Fab then open those files in Shrink.
@biga76
Reboot the pc (get the disc out 1st). This one has 95 bad sectors and maycause some problems with drives trying to read. Or just take a longer time to read.
If you have another drive I'd try that one too.

Right click on the red fox in the system tray. You'll see an option there to 'rip video dvd to hard disc'.
Update DVDFab to 3.0.8.6 - link

RipIt4Me works perfectly on Casino Royale. My first use of this package and I was very pleased. As noted in the first posting in this thread, there are a large number of bad sectors planted on the disk. RipIt found them all.

For the record, every Sony movie since Saw 3, I have never had a problem. This one is included.
I did the full disc backup (disc 1, that is) minus the numerous trailers and warning screens Sony packs on. I was left with 70% compression which I am more than content with.
My sig displays my process (and thinking about it, VOBB has probably been updated but if it's not broken, don't fix it, eh?).
Latest AnyDVD to rip > VOBB to blank the unwanted on a DVD > Shrink to compress > ImgBurn to burn = Never starting a thread asking how to backup a movie

AnyDVD-NeroRecode movie only no problem. It's actually a decent movie. Better than the latest ones just out.

Either or is just as easier.
Rip w/ Decrypter then open those Shrink or use 1 click mode in RipIt4Me.
Here's a step by step guide on set up and using RipIt4Me - link.

The easiest to use is AnyDVD with CloneDVD or NeroRecode. But these are pay programs.

I;m new to some of this. With AnyDVD I tried to rip to the hd, but it asks for the source directory, I assume this is on the dvd, so I clik on the drive with the dvd player and it shows three folders. audio, video and jacket. Which one gets ripped to the HD?
Itried the video and it opened dozens of files that all look alike, which one gets compressed?

If you're trying to use AnyDVD's ripper function, then the source directory is simply the DVD drive that has the loaded DVD. Navigate to the dvd drive and click on copy DVD.

Ripit4ME 1.6.9.0 did it for me menu & movie just fine but this one was nasty but what else can you expect from Sony.
Microsoft: Ps3 cant do 60fps on 1080p. Guess what they were WRONG!!!!!
(11/19/05 - 9/19/06) Microsoft: Sony's 1080p support on PS3 is all Hype and Not Needed.
(9/20/06) Microsoft: Xbox 360 to add 1080p support.
