i heard that hong kong ps3 was meant to bring bringing out a PAL patch or something can anyone tell me whats this about?

PS3 rocks people, New Zealand (PAL)got PS3 today the 23rd and I have a PS3 from Hong Kong (NTSC) the new download (1.60) allows me to play PAL and NTSC games with absolute no problems, Blue Ray is still zone locked (not that I have any movies but I have many movies that I have de-region coded and they work just fine

Which ps3 is it best to buy the Japan version or the asia version?
Can i buy games from england to play on it? Or do i have to buy the games from the website?

it depends, the asian ones have the same plugs as us and all worldwide games work, so its simple, although there are only a few asian blu ray movies in the asian region, where as there are more movies in the japan version but you would have to purchase some kind of electric convertor. personally i would say the asian one

got mine in Kuala Lumpur ,Malaysia its an NSTC/J (so I guess Japan) strange part is that it is a 220/240 volt unit (which I need in New Zealand) yet Japan is 110v so go figure...any who works great in PAL and NTSC

I have checked the update patch - it said it allow NTSC/HK PS3 to play DVD PAL. But it didn't say anything about game PAL though.
Please let me know those. I'm considering to whether to buy UK or USA or HK PS3. I'm getting confused out there which one is best one .

i downloaded update 1.60 for my hk ps3 it lets me play ALL ps3 games from all regions, but it wont let me watch uk blu ray or dvd movies, hope this helps?

ANYONE with a HK machine have they been able to successfuly play ps2 PAL games, i know from the past hongkong tended to have both PAL and NTSC formats. does the 1.60 update allow you to play ps2 pals on HK machine ?????????

Someone bought a PS3 from HK but he is able to see UK Blu-ray movie on it without any problem. Plus he can view Casino Royale (USA or UK) on it without any problem.
Which UK Blu-ray movie did you use to play on your PS3 but didn't work?
