hi all ,i have the jap ps3,and i am aware that it will not play ps2 games because of the NTSC,PAL issue,i was also lead to belive that the new update 1.60 would fix the problem ,i let the ps3 update from which ever site it uses (being a jap version i would expect it to be japan )is this my problem ,should i have installed the europe update and would this have made any diffrence as in the NTSC,PAL issuse,has any one tried this,????thanx for any help you can give

Think to be honest you wont beable to play Ps2 games from another region on the ps3 unless someone brings out a modchip which I cannot see happening as the PS3 is now region free for its games.


Can you confirm that the PS3 is region free and you have had no problems playing UK PS3 games. Thanks just thinking of getting one and not bothered about playing PS2 Uk.
