The forum in general is focussed on copy dvds, cds etc but it branches of into video games and pcs and stuff. Read the forum catagories and you will get an idea.

Originally posted by splid: Ok, well your PSP's definitly bricked, but there is a way to fix a bricked PSP! it does require you buy a cable, and i don't know a lot about this. Underneath the battery there is a label, underneath this label is a little hole with 3 pin holes that look like something can be plugged into them. These holes are a direct link to your flash0 and flash1 on your psp (the 'un-accessable' storage of your psp's firmware). Now apparantly you can buy a usb cable that go's from your pc to these pins so that you can access the flash 0 and flash 1 on your pc. Once you have this cable you can just copy a friends flash0 and flash1 files and copy them onto your PSP. Your PSP's firmware should appear identicle to your friends.
Problem solved.
PS - Apparently these cable's are illegal for some dumb ass reason, but i'm sure you could get hold of one.
can i use this process to change my fw from 3.11 to other fw??

well i shouldn't see any reason why not. When modifying the flash0 and flash1 you should be able to change anything in your firmware, its just that flash0 and flash 1 aren't usually accessable without homebrew

it should act as a removable storage, and if you have windows xp, xp normally recognises this and has drivers ready for it. Then you just gotta get a copy of a flash0 and flash1 off a mate or the internet, then it will work.

Ok, that is the single most retarded comment I have heard this year. first of all, im not sure which hole ur talkin about, but the motherboard of the psp has a little bit hanging off which get plugged onto the cable, and the cable obviously exists, because if you brick ur psp during an official sony upgrade, you take it to a sony center and they reflash it with the cable. trust me, i know, my uncle knows the guy who owns Sony europe, and that guy's brother owns it in the us or canada or something.

You sure about that? I thought they just replaced the motherboard n then sold/replaced them as refurbished products.

no, they are real. my mate works at a sony center, and what the do it pull apart the psp, plug the mobo into the cable, then put a new warranty sticker on it. thats how these guys on ebay are doing it without replacing the mobo. the cables are hard to get unless you work with them.

why dont you just go on ebay and buy a new or used motherboard and replace it yourself, it won't be hard to find a tutorial on how to take your PSP apart, take out the motherboard, and replace your motherboard. yes this should work even with those that have fw 3.10 and up but i'm not sure, i see no reason why it wouldn't.
