Looks like Ripit4me may be gone folks. Website is down and fourm has been removed. I'm surprise no one has posted anything about this yet.
I hope this is some type of April fools joke.

Looks like this is a pretty new thing.
Digital-Digest that I thought had a forum just for RipIt4Me is gone too.
All guides and references to RipIt4Me from there have been replaced.
Here's the best I could find in a quick google & not much:
link
If it's not an April Fools joke (kinda think it's not) I wonder which company got em - like when Macrovision went after DVD Decrypter.

For those who still want it, get it while it's still available here.

Do you have any more on what the deal is w/ RipIt4Me by chance?
I guess for now I would suggest turning off the check for updates feature -lightninguk suggested the same thing when decrypter was taken down.

When I went to the Digital Digest forum early this morning, I had found that all references to RipIt4Me was gone. Even the guides!
Then in the community news forum it stated that dicussing RipIt4Me was banned! That message no longer appears.
I think it's a joke. It may not be April Fool's Day here in the U.S, but it is in other parts of the world.
I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Luckily I have the installer backed up from download when it went on the shop machine.
I can't do anything about it until Friday but then I can make it available for download. Will try to retrieve it on Monday, along with decrypter.

It's probably a good thing you saved the aio installer. It's no longer available by the developer either.
Could be losing my mind :) but I don't remember these posts saying this: link.
So if it's an April Fools joke it going across quite a few servers and forums.

@ Binkie.. All links posted *removed* and all software downloaded for safety.
Will make a single archive download of all available later (after harry potter)
Can you write a quick guide to using these together for the .nfo file I will include in the package?
(not a windows user, no way to test or experiment.. alien software to me)

Cool - txs janrocks!
Just realized softpedia doesn't have the latest version 1.7.1.0 - must have had it on the mirror links that don't work.
For the latest and hopefully not the last here's links:
rapidshare
megaupload
Enjoy Harry Potter :)

In the future, when everyone goes to download software like Ripit4me etc. and the download window appears asking you if you want to "Run" or "Save" the file, don't click on "Run", instead, click on the "Save" button. Create a directory on your hard drive where you save all dvd software programs, like "Dvd Ripping and Burning Software". Then create some sub-directories within that directory like Ripit4me, ImgBurn, VobBlanker etc. and download the updated zipped files for each program as they become available with the program version # as part of the zipped file name. That way you will have backups of all current and past versions of all these programs should they become suddenly unavailable. If your program somehow stops working or is deleted accidently, just go into "Windows Explorer" and access the directory that the zipped programs were saved in and re-install them. Just a reminder to backup files! Hope this helps.

yeah, it's a good idea to download software and back it up in order to have it available in case of some kind of problem (hard drive crash, etc.), however, in this case, if ripit4me is really no longer available, the problem will be that it won't be updated to deal with updated encryption on dvds (every couple of weeks or so lately). it will be like shrink and dvddecrypter in that they will only work with relatively or totally unprotected dvds. let's hope whoever is responsible for ending ripit4me doesn't succeed in getting dvdfabdecrypter. i'm really curious to hear any details about who is responsible and how they decide who to go after. i'm imagining the stereotypical "smoke-filled room" with suits and their henchmen. i feel sad and angry about the whole situation. bummahs! RIP RipIt4Me!
[edit] i'm still going to wait a week or so before i remove the ripit4me link from my signature... i'm hoping something will change for the better...

i do believe you are right about that,
edit
maybe it went down because they use DVD Decrypter with it,
RipIt4me is very, very popular now and i remember they shut down DVD Decrypter when it was probably the best and most popular ripper out.
just a thought

At least we have AnyDVD and CloneDVD, slysoft seems to have taken over king of the hill. They seem ungettable; so for now I'm not concerned.

@garmoon,
yeah, slysoft is "apparently" untouchable because of the location of their corporate registration. but some part of me is always rooting for the small freeware underdog guys. i just think it's really cool that some people are willing to put in the time and effort (not to mention knowledge and ingenuity) to create something so useful to so many people... and give it away. especially if it happens to be a tool that helps circumvent authoritarian big brother types. i also hate and fear the idea that such people (the freeware folks) and products can be removed from distribution by intimidation and/or threat of litigation or incarceration. you can't legally make a backup copy of a movie you paid for? if one of your kids accidentally scratches a dvd badly enough so that it won't play properly you gotta give another 18 bucks to the sony corporation? please...

I totally agree with you. I remember when decrypter went down - was pissed then too.
I've had the retail stuff for years but that's not the point. I too route for the underdog and like having options.
Decrypter and Shrink are still favs in my book and RipIt4Me just gave them the 'push' they needed for the new stuff.
RipIt4Me will still work - Decrypter did for several months on new releases after Macrovision went after LightningUK.
So it still a great tool to have now and in the future.
I don't think this is a joke about RipIt4Me - it's gone (but could be wrong). Since the developers were anonymous I don't know if any statement like the one LightningUK did will come out.
@janrocks
Missed the part about the .nfo file. Yep I can do that - I'll do that tomorrow and send you a link.

@ Binkie.. Thanks.. I will add it to the upload archive when it's done.
Just a little thing about how to install all these unconnected exe things together will be great.. I took the others from your links, one is a *removed* I'm looking forward to adding your info, any text format will do (except .pub!) The current rar archive is 2.1MB.
I like the way at least a few members show a little initiative and spring into action. I would never have noticed this situation if it hadn't been posted like it was..
I'm just hoping that the *edit* is still on the works machine ;-)
