So how do I actually downgrade? I am taking it that this does not mean using devhook .4x launcher for 2.71 and choosing 1.5 firware, correct? Once I do this, will I still be able to play all my other games I have downloaded?

Thanks

One more question.......Will this work firmware 2.71 and a TA-082 motherboard? I have read that it will brick the psp and I have done this once before and DO NOT wish to do it again.

Thanks

u just need the right one for ur mobo. to check, open the umd drive. in the TOP RIGHT HAND corner has visible upside-doen writing on it, use the TA-082 downgrader. if it doesnt have visible letters, use the GENERIC downgrader.

(+[__]%) put this psp in ur siggy. just do it.
PSP Firmware: constantly changing, currently GoldenEye.

look up at my last post. if u can clearly read IC1003 on the top right hand side of inside the umd drive, it is ta-082 or higher.

Hey, nothing you can do really..
The official sony firmware CAN'T play ANY homebrew games..this includes being able to play PSone iso's.
IF there comes a firmware downgrader for fw3.40...you can downgrade to firmware 1.50...and then upgrade to a CUSTOM firmware (most recent: Cfw 3.40oe-a)..& then you'll be able to play PSone iso's..
For now...your ONLY option is playing UMD games..

I had this problem once too..
I'm not sure anymore..but i think you need to format the Flash1...
there's a program called FLASH1Formatter..(Google it) & follow instructions..
Once again..not sure though..

ATTN: Dakrt & anyone else experiencing trouble running ISO's after upgrading to 3.40 OE.

I was using 3.10OE running ISOs just fine, then I upgraded to 3.40OE and lost the ability to run most ISOs. Even after going back to 3.10OE the problem persisted.

Well, I've found the fix:

It's a program called Flash1 Formatter v2. Basically it removes all previous settings when it "dumps" your flash1, so you'll have to re-enter your settings (time, time-zone, name, etc).

Read the directions, of course.
Once you've installed the program and having it running, you'll want to do a "Clean Format". This will wipeout your old settings & start you anew... with working ISOs. :)

Does anyone know if DevHook or any of the other loaders are more successful at loading ISOs without a UMD inserted?

My laser is broke and I'd like to run more ISOs until I can get it fixed.

i not really sure what u r saying. put a different fw flash backup files to the PSP? It will work, but remember that the recovery is installed on Flash0 and it is linked through a txt file to tell the psp what prog to run first, if any of those files are missing u could have a non working recovery menu, or a non working psp, or both.

sorry if this might be answered already but, i read the readme on the firmware for 3.40 oe-a i really just dont get how to do it. i have 310-oea, can someone help? i think i get the part where you make psp/game150/ and copy 340oeflasher and 340oeflasher% to it, but whats the data.dxar and how do you get to it?

Installation instructions:

- Copy oeupdmaker and oeupdmaker% to /PSP/GAME if you are in 1.50, or to /PSP/GAME150 if you
are in any SE/OE version. Get the 1.50 and 3.40 Sony updaters (of any region, because all are
currently the same), and copy them in the oeupdmaker directory with the names 150.PBP and 340.PBP.

Execute the program, and it will generate the DATA.DXAR file. The checksums (althoug the flasher
will check for them for you):

CRC32: CDA4638D
MD5: 9754F2CC0CBE2D8FE0DD009C90FDCD9F
SHA1: 6F76BB67B31EFF6FECB72D9D4AF443C793E1E521

- Copy 340oeflasher and 340oeflasher% to /PSP/GAME if you are in 1.50, or to /PSP/GAME150 if you
are in any SE/OE version. Move the DATA.DXAR to 340oeflasher directory.

You need 75% battery, although you can skip this if you pressed L+triangle while loading the program.

thats the readme.....
where do i get the sony updaters? and how do i execute the program? and im guessing directory=folder?

Just to make your life simpler, just look for an easy winstaller and it will put all the files to the right directory. You can look for it using google. look for 3.40 OE-A easy winstaller or something.

psplife: Ceramic White 2.71 TA-082> 1.5> 3.03OE-C> installed custom themes> semibricked on the 3rd try> 1.5> 3.30OE-A> 3.10OE-A'> 3.03OE-C> 3.40 OE-A> 3.52 M33 > 3.52 M33 update 4 > 3.71M33 > 3.71M33-3
