I tried that flash formatter, but I am still having problems. I am wondering if i need to go back to 1.50 and then go back to 3.40 OE-A?

Dakrt,
I didn't have to go back to 1.50.. I actually went 3.40 back to 3.10, then back to 3.40.. then ran flash formatter and now everything works fine. But if you're still having trouble and your confident to do it I'd probably try going back to 1.50.

Like 6 months ago I did the 3.03 Sony FW to 1.50 OE to 3.10OE upgrade/downgrade thing and everything worked fine.. then a month or two ago upgraded to 3.40OE and lost my ability to play most ISOs. Then I went directly back 3.10OE thinging that would fix things but it didn't. I then went directly back to 3.40OE. Then a few weeks later I ran the Flash1Formatter and it fixed everything.
Since then, I upgraded a buddy's PSP from 3.10OE to 3.40OE, immediately ran the Flash1Formatter and his works fine.
It seems to me if you upgrade/downgrade to a different version OE and the upgrade/downgrade doesn't automatically make you rename your PSP, reset your time zone, etc.. then you should run Flash1Formatter.
The only other advice I can offer is make sure you set your kernel to 1.50 mode before launching the upgrade eboot. Hope that helps.

Instructions
------------
- Change the language to English, under System Settings -> System Language
- Copy all contents inside MS_ROOT to the root of your memory stick.
- Load Lumines
- When you run the program, you'll see a coloured screen that can be one of two colors:
* Red: the files couldn't be written to the flash (it happens a few times). Just keep trying.
* Pale Blue: The files were written succesfully, and HEN is active. After that, the xmb will
be rebooted. Now you can run the homebrew in format prepared for 2.71. (see details below).
Note that a pale blue screen will appear again every time the PSP reboots with HEN active.
- As mentioned before, the patch will remain resident in memory, and even entering sleep mode
won't delete it. Only a hardware reset will remove the program from memory.
- When you do a hardware reset, you'll have to run Lumines again.
This time there will just be the pale blue screen and xmb reboot, since this time there is
no need to write to the flash.
Note: Ensure that you leave the PSP/HEN_350 and PSP/SAVEDATA directories that are used for HEN
as some of the files are used each time you enter HEN.
Note2: Once the program is loaded, it is independant of the memory stick contents. So you can
freely swap memory sticks.

Does anyone know how to update from 3.03 (TA-82) to 3.40 OE-A? Im stuck on this version since I can't find the GTA version 2.0..Any suggesstions are greatly appreciated...

Got it working after finding a GTA 2.0 version...
2.82>3.03>1.5>3.40OE-A - used the easyinstaller
It works fine now. So, one down and one more PSP to go. Still looking for Lumines UMD..Should be pretty easy from here..

If u havent got a Lumines UMD yet...n u are planning on downgrading u should get one soon before the patched UMDs arrive in the US...it already has in Japan.

When you load the game on the psp, on the game tab you will see the update patch icon. When selected it will say fw version 2.0 on it.

since a downgrader flashes the psp flash the downgraders are universal. it doesnt matter. it doesnt even matter if u use the north america or japanese 1.50 eboot. just make sure u have a north american Lumines UMD
