Well if you would do a quick search, there are tons of threads on this already. The Wii games use full sized DVDs (DVD-Rs seem to be the most compatible) and you can run GameCube games on either full sized DVDs or mini DVDs.

I burn both Wii and GC games on Verbatim 8X DVD+R at 4X speed with ImgBurn. All the games that I have played work perfectly with NTSC Wii modded with Wiikey.

I use Memorex 16x DVD+R and burn @ 4x. No problems with any of my GC or Wii backups.

dont use memorex dvds not being a fanboy or anything BUT as ive overheard from other people mostly in here, AD, memorex dvd dyes dont last very long compared to verbatim or tayo yuden's dvd dyes. meaning to say verbatim and tayo yuden's dvd dye would live longer than memorex's dvd dye. so i suggest going for verbatim DVD-R or tayo yuden DVD-R

Hmm. You may have a valid point. I'll make the switch and see what happens. Thanks for the info!

Since day 1 of being able to burn dvd's i've used Platinum +R for everything. Since day 1 of being able to burn Wii backup's I ordered a set of Verbatim -R.

Console lenses CAN be rather sensitive when it concerns cheap media. It hasn't been proven yet for the wii but I don't want to take any risks. Besides it's just a 3 dollar more compared to 25 platinum dvd's or 25 verbatims!

I don't want to sound like an old man but you guys should really be using first class media. The harder your lens has to read those cheap disc the sooner it will break down.

The best brands that you can currently get your hands on are Taiyo Yuden and Verbatim. It is worth it to spend the extra $3 or $4. Taiyo Yudens are harder to obtain but are worth it. Verbatims can be found nearly anywhere and are on sale every couple of weeks.

While your cheap media may be working fine for you now they will lose integrity over a shorter period of time and damage your system.

I have experience with Xbox and PS2 drives breaking down due to cheap media...

I am not sure if I got a bad batch or what but I bought some hp's from circuit city and they work with no issue at all...im a little pissed now though cause if all of the TY's are gonna be like that then i just wasted $45...but yeah my hp's i burn at 4x with imgburn and no issues yet

There are bad batches out there with any brand. Also, don't buy the TY value line since those discs aren't held to the same standards as the premium line.

I didnt know there was a difference. the code on my ty's are 03 is that not a premium code...are the 02's premium? Furthermore are all 100 going to be bad then? they came in 4-25 pack sets, what are the chances that all 100 are going to be bad?

Thanks

edit->

...This is the link i bought them from, the ones on the page are the ones i orderd...says they're premium line although there is not a review (not there when I bought them obviously lol saying bad batch)
