well the PSP is composed of :

/flash0 - Flash 0
/flash1 - Flash 1
/disc0 -UMD Drive
/ms0 -Memory Stick

to write to the flash0 and flash1 you need to be in flash usb mode from recovery or have a flashing tool, so you are pretty much safe unless you are in that mode.

Why just not put another Flash0 folder?

Firmware Database: Psp-TA-082>2.71>3.11 changed 2.00>1.5>3.10OE-A>3.30OE-A>1.5>3.30OE-A>1.5>3.40OE-A

faqman , thats true, but it is written to the flash1 and the flash1 is not really required to correctly boot a PSP system,(it only hold the registry , etc which can be completely regenerated, hence the blue screen of death that appears after a firmware downgrade)

.

by pressing O the flash1 is regenerated

Yeah, but if the whole folder is gone then there isn't anything that can be be done, that already hasn't been said (mobo or modchip)...

When I was making my XMB theme, I managed to semi-brick my PSP 6 times, lol. Thank DA for the recovery menu!

flash0 from 2.80 + can only be written via a flasher. this is becuase the files are all sigchecked. How ever you can just copy your OWN flash0 files back onto your psp becuase obviously the psp's flash0 is formatted to read your sig'ed files.

Also if he delted the whole flash0 hes screwed becuase hes delted recovery.prx which is what u need to access your recovery.

Sldo jared you said there was only flash0, flash 1 ... well tehre flash 2 and flash 3. ;)

i bricked my psp by formating flash1 and what i didnt know is flash0 and
flash1 are on the same NAND chip but split up in 2 partition tables
1 partition for flash0 and the other for flash1 so if you quick format
flash1 via windows it will delete flash0 together.it would be good if you could solder the nand chip of a psp created a devive so that windows ca view the files on the nand chip and put like 1.5 firmware on then solder back on the psp motherboard.

My IQ is 152,some people call me a PSP Guru as i can
answer any psp related question. know a bit in C++ written a couple of programs i got 2 psp on is briced and other is original 3.40 firmware.i got a Core 2 Extreme QX6700 with a geforce 8800 GTX PC 2 ipods
and a PS3

Thanks... That worked.

While were on the topic of deleteing stuff. I'm still not sure what is safe to delete off my memory stick. I've used the 2.71 to 1.50 downgrader and than used the 1.50 to 3.40 AO-E Upgrader and there is files in my PSP Folder. Can I just format my Memory stick? or is there stuff in there and is required. Cause when I go to my game menu some of the files show up as corrupted which I'm assuming are the folder files related to the 3.40 AO-E Installation Process.
