Hi leinsterq,

Welcome to the forum,

As gman496 has rightly pointed out, you will need to upgrade the box from your computer.

To do this you need to buy a null modem cable lead
you can get one in maplins, cost around ?18.
Make sure the cover on the lead has the part number L71BTon it. Don't accept anything else.

You also need to download this file below to your desktop.
It has the software needed to upgrade the box.
http://www.speedyshare.com/262600882.html

You then have to connect your computer to your replay lite box and flash it.

Flashing instructions are on the link below,, it's a pdf document that will guide you step by step through the flashing process.

The menu you are trying to get into is for the starview box so which one do you have reply lite or starview

on reply light you need to scan for you channels first then when you have them go to menu parental control press 7777 then press ok then red button then exit out you should see on your tv 1800 now means it is trying to find codes

The Replay Lite starts scanning at about a frequency of 162 but will not actually start to pick up channels until about 340 so it can take a long time before it starts to pick up channels after you start the scan.

You should set the "Start Scan" number in the menu to 338.6 & then do the scan, it will start to pick up channels very quickly & have them all within 5 minutes.

As Brian said its a CC glitch, both the Starviews and Eurovoxs went down for a while but came back, even the subbed boxes went down.

Hello hans blix
(did you give up your job at the UN as an arms inspector)
No weapons of mass destruction here.

When you put the software from your PC to the box, unplugged everything and reconnected the scart and antenna cable.
Is the box just staying on red light?
If you have a green light, try unplugging it and powering it up again.
Is your cable working ok??

Yes the green light stayed on ,my cable is ok and there were no WMDs in Iraq either.

I'm a bit confused!
I flashed the 752 to a new box. Should I have flashed the 742 first??

I cant get a conection when trying to flash 742.

when I try to setup comm, i get connection error and connection failed.

I had setup comm earlier no problem, but might have messed something up when trying to upgrade software.

Can anyone give me the idiots guide to this stuff? I never heard of flashing before today, I don't know what to 'open with' for a bin file, I'm a computer retard that needs help :)

Hello Mr Blix, ( we met in Kuwait in April 2003 )

Guide to flashing the replay lite box.
I made this up in word and converted it to PDF for Faster Download.

http://www.speedyshare.com/520765426.html

I have to upload some other files for flashing and I will post them pronto.

I still have that knee injury I got at camp Pennsylvania,do You remember that explosion?
I thought you would be more at home at sunny Wyoming than here in wet Dublin.

I will put up those files soon .Sir

Brian how are you, hope you had a nice rest.

At the bottom of my post you will find a link called Eamos FTA Library, we have downloaded info on all boxes here. In here you will find a replay folder with a full guide, also firmware and loader, may be not all. But it may help you out.

Hi again hansblix,

Raining here in Dublin also.
Hi all,

If you want to Save time on a rescan,

Download the file below to your desktop.
http://www.speedyshare.com/525336958.html

It has all my channels and favourites on it. All are working, but set##ta 2 will come on only sometimes, mostly on though.

Down the stb link file below to your desktop.

http://www.speedyshare.com/490167957.html

Run the stb link file.
Connect the null modem lead from your PC to the box.

Click Write Factory Data.
Get the file dub channel fav
Click Write Factory Data
There are 64 blocks to upload.

Wait a couple of minutes more after your PC has read all blocks transferred.
Then unplug the null modem lead and the box.
Power up the box again and in a few moments all my channels and favs will be on your box.
