If your machine(PC) has a 9pin Serial port then L71BT is what you need (see link below).
http://www.maplin.co.uk/Search.aspx?criteria=l71bt&source=15&SD=Y

The one in you post is for a PC with 15 pins(& yes that is the L72BT)

Brian and/or Scouser,

Can you help me out? Most of my mates have the Replay Lite which I've flashed with autoroll for them, although typically one of them has been arkward and got a cloned Starview (not the box). Can you tell be which version of the software I need to use in Dublin as there are about 6 or 7 different bins on eamos?

Also, is there anything I need to watch out for when flashing?

Cheers guys.

Hi , I hope this helps

Are you sure its a clone ?

If so you will need the 2.57_fixed file , it can be found in Eamo site in my sig

You also need to download the GT ROM Loader in the softwa*e folder ,

Updating Firmware

Connect your box and PC with a Null modem cable and switch on the cable box and put it on STANDBY.
(The Starview does not need to be connected to TV to update it with GTROM)

Open GTROM Loader software make sure that you set the correct COM PORT that matches the one that is being used

Make sure App file only is selected, then click Bin File & browse to the firmware where you downloaded it to on your PC.

Run the GTROM loader by pressing Download and you will see the % progress increase then Download completed message on your PC.
Wait until you see the DOWNLOAD COMPLETE pop up on your PC before
removing the NULL MODEM CABLE. The Starview will then reboot

Turn off then plug your tv cable and scart back in

Hi red05

hi brian can you tell me, if I purchased a replay lite box from a normal retailer rather than eBay, and box came blank, what software would I need to get ,to get it working up to the standard you can buy off eBay ready to just to plug and play?..

Sorry for the delay getting back to you, I was at a wedding Saturday and was wrecked on Sunday. I had Insomnia and was trying to sleep it off.
It is better not to put things in my shoutbox as I seldom view it.
Post them here and the rest of the clan are always about willing to help.

If you know someone with a working box, you can clone the new box from theirs.
If you can?t do that, the following will help you out.

ALL THE FILES REQUIRED AT
http://eko.4shared.com/

A guide to flashing can be found in DOCUMENTATION.

You will need a null modem lead to transfer the files from your computer to your box.
Make sure the null modem lead has part number L71BT OR L72BT on the front of the cover. Depending on what port you have on your computer.
Do not accept anything that does not have these part numbers.
A Null Modem Cable is required which can be purchased for ?18 from Maplins Dublin city centre or if you can wait to have it delivered you can purchase online UK for a fraction of the cost plus postage. A couple of examples of where they can be purchased online are these links, thanks to gman496

Serial Null Modem 25-Pin Female to 9-Pin Female.
http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?Modu...urce=14&doy=2m9

Serial Null Modem 9-Pin Female to 9-Pin Female.
http://www.maplin.co.uk/Search.aspx?criteria=l71bt&source=15&SD=Y

STB LINK FILE 5.20 FOUND UNDER SOFTWAREThis is the programme that will transfer the firmware to your box.

AND FLASH WITH 752 FOUND UNDER FIRMWARE Flash the box. Remember UNTICK maintain user data.
Wait until all the blocks are transferred and WAIT a couple of more minutes for the led to flash much more rapidly than it did when you could visibly see when the blocks were transferring.
Unplug everything and connect the power lead and TV and SCART leads.
Your box should be now ready for a rescan.

DOWNLOAD THE REPLAY HANDBOOK IN DOCUMENTATION.

Hope this helps you red05,

Apologises for not geting back to you sooner

To use parental lock on the replay lite box.

You need to go to parental lock.
Your current password is probably 7777.
This needs to be changed to 0000 for parental lock to work.
After you have changed the password to 0000.
Exit back to TV and go into parental lock again and switch it to ON.

Go to channel manager-TV channel.
Scroll to the channel you wish to have locked.
Press the green button on your remote control to edit the selected channel.
Select lock, you will be asked to enter password, enter 0000.
The channel you have should be highlighted in yellow.
Press ok on your remote control and a lock symbol will appear beside the selected channel.

At this time you can scroll to any other channel and press OK to lock them also.
Exit to TV screen.

When anybody goes to select the locked channels they will have to enter 0000 to view.

To unlock the channels.

Parental lock off or
Go to channel manager select the locked channel
Edit, enter password, press OK and the lock symbol will disappear.
Exit back to TV screen

Welcome to the forum.

GO to menu
user installation
manual search....OK
a box will appear.

On channel number, change this number to the one after the last number that you have stored on your box.
You have 127, set the channel number at 128.
Change the symbol rate to 6887
Leave the constellation at 64QAM

Search by network........ON

And click search.
During the search a small number of channels will be found.

One of them will be the one you are looking for.
Select view to save them all.
They will be stored from channel 128 onwards.
Delete the ones you already have stored and delete where you originally had the channel you were looking for.
Then move the new channel you were looking for to the location you require.

Hi Brian 1956
Thanks for the help but i tried to follow these instructions over the weekend but my box will not let me go up one channel i have 127 but it will not let me enter 128 it just goes back to Channel 1.
Any ideas anyone?
Cheers

Hi GERBHOY,

When you go to manual search, can you not change the channel number to 128????
It should allow you to do this.

Or if you have a null moden lead, you can copy all my channels, which are all OK to your PC and send them to your box.

Download the file below to your desktop.
Its a file called dub channel fav.
http://www.speedyshare.com/525336958.html

It has all my channels and favourites on it. All are working.
You need a null modem lead part number L71BT Don't accept anything that has not got this part number on it.
You can get one in maplins.

Download the stb link file below to your desktop.

http://www.speedyshare.com/490167957.html

Connect the null modem lead from your PC to the box.
Run the stb link file.

Click Write Factory Data.
Get the file dub channel fav from your desktop.
Click Write Factory Data There are 64 blocks to upload.

Wait a couple of minutes more after your PC has read all blocks transferred.
The red/green light should be flashing much more quickly than it was when you could visibly see the files transferring.
Then unplug the null modem lead and the box.

Power up the box again and in a few moments all my channels and favs will be on your box.

It will be quicker than cloning, and I have all the channels stored in that file.
below is a word doc. of all my channels that are on the dub_chan_fav

gerbhoy, I just sent you a PM.

Go to edit my account at the top of this page and check your private messages.

Thought at this stage, you probably are better off doing an
Auto Search OR do the mnaual search on channel 127 and get whatever channel you have stored there back later.

If you are doing an Auto Search,
Start freq at 290
End freq at 395
Symbol rate 6887

Hi,

My set top box went down on wednesday evening it is a replay lite one of my house mates got off ebay, we recently ( a couple of months ago ) did a firmware update.

I have tried to re-program all the channels but it comes up with 'scrambled 0000' ( normally comes up with 'scrambled 1800') with the NRL finals just around the corner I really need to get this working. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Thanks Ciaran87,

I'm delighted you have updated the box and all is well.

It should be no problenm for you now to upload my channels and favourites to your replay lite.
You already have a null modem lead and the stblink file.

Download the file below to your desktop.
Its a file called dub channel fav.

http://www.speedyshare.com/525336958.html

It has all my channels and favourites on it. All are working in Dublin 9.

You might just have to rename favourites,
1 General TV
2 Movies
3 Sports
4 Music
5 Kids
6 Documentaries
7 News
8 Others

To do this go to Menu-Channel Manager-TV Channel-OK
A box will appear-TV Channel Manager
You will see favourites 1 near the top of the screen
Press the Green button on your remote, to edit
select Rename FAV. then just type in the favourite name required.

When I first came on here, I hadn't a clue how to do these things, but this is a great learning place, with some great very helpful people. You can also some useful information on other topics if you click on forums at the top of the page.
I owe those people a great deal of thanks.

Happy viewing Ciaran,
