thanks brian for the Lfc tv info, unfortuantly couldnt get it to work so scanned box again, its brill now thanks. also can any one tell me where i can get replacement remote control for my replay box?, preferably without paying too much.thanks

they are £20 +p&p
you will need to email them from that site as they do not list them but do sell them.

If you have a mobile phone with a camera, switch it to camera mode. Point the remote at the camera lens, and you should see the infra-red LED flashing on the screen. If you don't see it flashing, then yes, the remote is dead.If you do see it flashing, then it's not the remote.

Change password in parental lock to 7777
turn off parental lock
goto key manager and turn off Auto update in the current key.

I have read most of this thread & i cant belive that nobody has had the same problem with updating their replay box as me.
I have a replay lite SW version - 7.44 , which i understand i have to update to 7.52.
Downloaded 7.52 and stblink 5.20
The rs232 null modem cable is connected the replay box and pc (with usb extention because my pc doesnt have a 9pin rs232 port)
I open stblink 5.20 , com setup 1 and 2 gives the same answer - connection error
Can some1 plz help me wasting hours of me life & stop me crying?

Hi hotrocks,
An ordinary RS232 cable won't work.
Are you sure it's a null modem lead, part number L71BT.
If it is take the lead out of the box and try again.
if it still doesn't work, unplug the null modem lead and reconnect.
Open up the stblink, UNTICK maintain user data and press Upgrade software, you will get a warning message, Ignore this.
There are 515 blocks to transfer to the box, during this time the red/green will flash slowly on the box.
When all blocks are transferred, WAIT a couple of minutes more for the red/green to be flashing muchmuch faster than it was when you could visibly see the blocks transferring, roughly 2 minutes.
Because the box has to accept the upgrade even after all blocks have transferred.
exit the stblink, take out the null modem lead and unplug the box.
Plug the box back in and only then conect the scart snd tv cable.
You will have to then do a scan for stations.
If you live in Ireland
start freq 290
end freq 403
symbol rate 6887
constellation 64 QAM
Search by network ON
This won't take long to find all your stations.
If you live in the UK
Start freq 290
end freq 692
symbol rate 6887/6952
constellatioN 64 Qam
Search by network ON

This was the cable i bought + USB to Serial port convertor cable which i take is the right ones -
Serial Null Modem Cable - 9 pin Female to 9 pin Female - 2 metre
Null modem cables are used to transfer data between machines.
Occasionally used for data transfer between two PC's (use Windows Direct Cable Connection software or LapLink) but more commonly now, used to update Satellite/Cable Receivers from your PC (please check your instructions to make sure this is the correct cable).
Suitable for Dreambox, Technomate, Humax, EchoStar, Manhattan and may more. If your receiver has a 9pin socket on it, then this cable should work great.
High quality cable with moulded ends, with thumb screw fasteners, for secure easy connecting.
Brand New in Sealed Poly Bag.
It must be plugged into a 9pin serial port on your PC. If you don't have one, we also sell a USB to Serial port convertor cable.

i've done all this as you said but still get the connection error.
Do i have to install a driver for the null + usb cable?
As i have NO com ports at the back of pc!(even though theres an option in device manager).
Do i need to reconfigurer and set the null + usb cable as 1 of the com ports within device manager(as theres only 2 options when using STB LINK 5.20, com port 1 + com port 2)

Hi hotrocks,
If you know anyone with a working box, you can clone your box from theirs.
What part of the country are you in?
Try connecting the cables with your computer off and restart the computer and try again.
Don't try the setup comm, just UNTICK the maintain user data in the stblink and press the upgrade button, this is called forcing the flash. The red/green light will flash slowly, wait until it's flashing much much more quickly than it did when the blocks were transferring, only then unplug the the null modem lead and unplug the box. Power up again and do a chanel search as above.

Hi dudegee,
If you are connected to nhell, the box should work in Waterford.
Manual Instructions for key entry in Replay Lite
1. Menu
2. Installation
3. Parental Lock
4. Red Audio Button for Goto Key Manager
5. Choose the top option and turn OFF the auto update.
6. Press the Blue button to choose the NAGRA option
6. Use the left scroll button to get to your Provider ID which will be one of the following:
Four arrows back takes you to 'Prov ID 0X55' which is Nhell
7. When you select your provider, one arrow down takes you to the 0x00 - i.e. Key 0. Press OK
8. Up pops the HEX Keyboard - just type in the new numbers - it puts the dots in for you. Do this for Key 01 as well.
Codes for 0x00 type A9.86.6E.EA.39.EA.09.49
Codes for 0x01 type 9E.40.85.78.E7.82.10.06
9. Exit out

hi all, i have just joined this forum. i have been reading all about the lite box for months now. i have a problem now. i havn't got a null modem cable, i paid someone to get all the channels on the box. lots went missing lately, i tried an auto scan and all the channels gone. is there an easy way to get them back or will i pay again?

Hi angie97,
Don't pay anybody to get your channels, you can do this yourself, no problems.
You should buy a null modem lead part number L71BT as you will need it in the future, don't accept anything that has not the part number L71BT. you can get it in maplins.
What software is on your box?
to find this out, go to menu, utility, receiver information.
SW Version should read 7.52
Are you on nhell and what part of the country or country are you (roughly)
You should have found channels with an auto scan.
Did you find them and were you getting a 1800:scrambled signal.

No problem angie 97,
Make sure Parental lock is OFF.
To do this go to, menu, user installation, parental lock.
Password should be 7777, if this doesn't work try 0000.
Turn off parental lock and install lock, change password to 7777
Exit back to TV.
To do a scan in your area,
Menu,
Auto Search,
Use the remote control to put in the frequencies below.
Start Frequency 290
End frequency 403
Symbol Rate 6877
Constellation 64 QAM
Search by Network ON
Search
In a couple of seconds it will start to find channels and in a little over 4 minutes the search will be complete.
Select VIEW
Your box will then by default to the last channel on your list.
Probably 147 nick toons. I just did a rescan and I am dublin 9 and that's exactly what should happen with your box.
You can go to menu, Channel manager, TV channel and sort them to whatever order you want.

Liverpool TV is now on nhell Ire on freq 394
They are showing a replay of the Birmingham match.
No need for a rescan, as it is in the same place as Rangers TV.
So just go to channel manager..TV channel...green button for edit
rename channel and just type in the new name, LFCTV where Rangers TV is listed.
