Hi Red05,
Another useful download is this more detailed Replay Box Manual.
http://www.speedyshare.com/443681558.html
You might want to try this.
Main Menu Channel Manager HDD Manager
PVR setting Enable
I'm not sure if you do this after fitting a new hard drive, you could always put back the original hard drive to see if that works.
This box is new to me,so like yourself, we are still learning.
I will keep looking on other forums.

hi brian thanks for the manual, also thanks for the rest of the info, the play lite part of the replay box - the tv unscrambled is still working ok without connecting the hard drive, but again once i connect hard drive it seems to overpower the tv side,so no pic and no response from remote..not even a blue screen, maybe the hard drive itself has something wrong? would that have files on it that could have been wiped that interface with the replay lite side of the box? when i force flashed while hard drive connected originally? cant think of reason why both wont work together. any more help to get box working right appreciated, have now downloaded all files with hard drive disconected too. look forward to hearing from you. thanks again, if nothing else ive got tv. cheers

Hi Red05
Try flashing it again with the file in the link below, with the hard drive disconnected.
http://www.speedyshare.com/191202677.html
When you plug back in and get a response from the box, unplug again and reconnect the hard drive.
Plug in again and if you are getting a response from the box.
Press record on your remote control, apparently the hard drive is not recognised by the box until it's been initialsed by recording.
Hope this helps m8, you have great patience.
I will see what else I can find out and I will get back to you.

I remember someone during the week asking about a universal remote control that will work on the Replay Lite...well I found one and it was bought in Ireland too. It's the 'Support Plus URC-L-1870'. The only problem is that it was bought in Lidl. I have one here at home but got it somewhere else a while back. I've just done an auto scan on it while holding it at the Replay Lite. After about 15 mins it found the right code to work with the RL and it switched off...Success! It's fairly long with a load of buttons on it with an LCD screen at the top. After trying to look up some info on it which wasn't easy cause there's barely any info available, I found that Lidl don't sell URCs regularly but there is a way of checking their product list for the year but I'm not sure how. That was you can see if they'll sell something like this in future. Hope this helps someone...
Here's a link to the manual for it...
http://big.aff.com.pl/urc/URC-L-1870-EN.pdf
EDIT :
After doing more research I found somewhere that sells it for ?6.90!!!
Only catch is you need to know French!!! Here's the link...

Hi red05
This is a reply I got from a friend of mine.
No It sounds like the drive is faulty you can flash with or without the drive connected it only effects the glitching in some cases or maybe they will start faster if flashed with drive drive connected, never noticed any difference my self try initialising the drive in a pc I.E. connect it to PC and in control panel>performance and maitainence>system>hardware look for the drive and initialise.if this fails try a different drive in the replay
__________________
Don't know if you want to try the flash with the hard drive installed.
But make sure it's the Reply Box 751 for the replay box with hard drive and not the 751 for the ordinary replay lite.
I'm not sure how to do that initialising the drive via the PC.
I will ask for more instructions and get back to you.

Hi red05
Did the box come with a hard drive attached????
Why don't you take out your segate hard drive and put back in the orignal hard drive and see what happens.
If that works bring the segate drive back and get a refund or a replacement.

Hi red05,
My friend hasn't come on how to initialise the hard drive through a PC.
The only thing left I would try would be to do a factory reset.
Flash with the 751 box file, then connect the hard drive and see what happens.
http://www.speedyshare.com/191202677.html
If that didn't work, do another factory reset and flash it with 751 with the hard drive connected and see what happens.
When my friend comes back to me with any more info about how to initialise the hard drive I will get back to you.
But it sounds like a dodgey hard drive.
So do a factory reset, connect the hard drive, do another factory reset with the hard drive attached and flash with the 751 box file

Hi red05,
Still no word back from my friend.
Can you get the box to where it was before you upgraded with the software??
Do a factory reset until you get it back to this state and flash with the two files in the folder in my link.
http://www.speedyshare.com/383937533.html
These files are the 744 and 751 for the box with the hard drive.
There are similar numbered files, but those are for the lite only.
The ones in the link are for the box with hard drive.
I just want to make sure we haven't got them mixed up.
Good luck m8

Hi red05.
I heard back from mt friend on how to initialise a hard drive through your computer.
No It sounds like the drive is faulty you can flash with or without the drive connected it only effects the glitching in some cases or maybe they will start faster if flashed with drive drive connected, never noticed any difference my self try initialising the drive in a pc I.E. connect it to PC and in control panel>performance and maitainence>system>hardware look for the drive and initialise.if this fails try a different drive in the replay
you have to connect it to a spare ide socket unless you have more than 1 hard drive in your computer the cable should have 2 spare connectors in it and then connect a spare power plug they will be close to your hard drive in your PC.
It sounds scary but when you have opened your Pc all will become clear I had never seen the inside of a PC when I did mine all the plugs will only connect to the right socket the right way round.
Hopes this helps you red05.

If people were to believe what Adrian Weckler wrote in an article in the Sunday Business Post yesterday, you would believe that the writing is on the wall for the Starview box.
He mentions how U** (new owners of N** and C*****) and Sly (which I find hard to believe) are growing increasingly concerned at the number of free digital boxes accessing their subscription based content. The reason I don?t believe Sly are getting concerned is that it?s a lot harder and more expensive to find something that works as easy as the box in terms of hacking the U** channels. He mentions that U** have been working hard recently on finding an alternative system to fend off these boxes, but it will be sometime before a workable solution will be released.
I?m sure the owners of UPC are very concerned at the minute with how easy people are finding it to access the channels, but they also seem to be aware that they will never prevent everyone from doing it. Apparently they aren?t after the odd enthusiast who trys to gain free TV. It?s the ordinary joe soap they are targeting now. Those that wouldn?t know where to turn if their boxes stopped working all of a sudden. In fairness to N**, the last few updates they made, had a big affect on joe soaps perception of the boxes. People I have spoke with now have the opinion that the starview boxes no longer work. So for me that was a successful campaign for N**.
Adrian also goes on to state that there is a misconception by people selling these boxes, that it is not illegal to do so. He even goes as far as mentioning the act that apparently proves that it is illegal to sell the boxes. Well in one way he is right and in another he is not. When you buy the starview boxes from the manufacturer, they aren?t able to automatically pick up the scrambled channels. You can?t even access a hidden menu to turn on the ability to do so. So it is up to the user to give the boxes the ability to ?hack? the channels. They do this by downloading new firmware from the Internet, that allows them to turn on secret menu, which in turn allows them to turn on a key cracking functionality within the firmware.
In terms of U**?s attempt at bringing in a solution that will render the boxes useless, I?m personally unsure how successful this will be. Most encryptions used by TV companies have been hacked at this stage and anything new won?t take that long for the hackers to break. But in saying that, it?s not Mary down the road that?s going to have the knowledge to do this, it?s back to people in the know.
Anyway, I think Adrian should have done a bit more research into the starview and other boxes before making his assumptions surrounding it?s use. Even a few hours spent researching how they function would have made it a more informative article.
And so say all of us amen let this be an end to speculation and scaremongering

Hi 2steven0,
The software for ch###s will work to a point on nhell, but if you did a scan for channels on nhell, you would get two of every channel at different frequencies(I did it to see what would happen)
Some of these would come 1800scrambles and the picture would be jumping.
I think you should do a full scan on your ch###s connection and it should be OK.
Do a full scan
Start frequency 290
End frequency 403
Should take less than 5 minutes.
Symbol rate scroll left till you see *****, enter 6875 and press ok on your remote control.
Make sure it stays on 6875
Constellation 64 QAM
Search by network ON
Search ?.when all channels are found select view.
Go to parental lock
Current password 7777 it might be 0000
Parental lock: OFF
Install lock OFF
New password 7777
Confirm password 7777
Exit back to TV
Go to parental lock.
Goto key manager,
Nagra page.
Scroll left till you see 0x5E
0x00 key should read 0x4B.7C.D5.86.E7.01.CC.96
0x01 key should read 0x81.34.4B.3C.9E.DF.10.67
If the keys are right, the box should work after the rescan.
Hope this helps you john
