hi guys, im new to all this but would really appreciate your help.
I bought a Replay Lite box today. I have Chorus
Im in north county dublin area.
i did the prescan and it found some channels
but it comes up with 1800:Scrambled.
The instructions that came with it said
Go to Menu
Go to User Installation
Go to Parental Lock
Type in 7777
You should now see a RED button at the bottom saying GO TO KEY MANAGER
Press the RED button then press EXIT
It may take a few mins for the channels to clear but it will happen.
If I press 7777 it says Access Denied.
the SW version : 7.52
HW Version : 1770-1.0-CS100

Hi Steve & welcome to the forum.
Your box has software Rev 7.52
I think it needs to updated to v7.56 if you are on Cho**s

Hey Steveirl...
First of all you actually need to change the code from 0000 to 7777 which is why it seems you're getting the access denied message. Secondly it seems you've got the wrong firmware on your Replay Lite. I think the only firmware that is meant to work with Chorus is version 7.56

Exit back to tv.
THIS FILE IS FOR PEOPLE IN IRELAND WHO ARE IN C####S LAND.
THIS IS NOT AN UPDATE FOR PEOPLE ON NHELL.

Hi Brian
I am new to this site as i only bought a Replay Lite box today.
Im at this the last 5 hours now, first i had No Signal,
i got this sorted, i then done the scan and it found a number of chanels
i then could not unlock the parental code.
thanks to reading your spread i was able to do this by typing 0000
i was told to use 7777 this didnt work
i went into Goto Key Manager and then clicked on Nagra
I tried to add provider 5E but it doesnt seem to save it at all when i click on OK
so when i go back to the channels i keep getting message 1800:scrambled !
The receiver information is
SW Version : 7.52
HW Version : 1770-1.0-CS100

Well CBX,
a lot less popular & harder to buy is a matter of opinion I suppose?
Personally I think they are still the best for many reasons,
1. They're so small & tidy.
2. They're so easy to update, setup & use.
3. Since the 7.52 update they have been rock solid.
4. They can be cloned from one to another in minutes. (It's a snip)
Of course the EPG is an issue for many people but I can live with that to be honest.
As for the "Hard to buy"?
Have you ever considered that this is because they're so popular? & maybe it's a case of demand out stripping supply?
I bought a few during the week & like everything else, if you know where to go & really want to source them, you will!
I don't know if you keep an eye on the VOX forum? but they appear to be having a fair bit of grief with the latest model from what I've read (But again that's just my opinion)
I hope the guru's out there do sort the EPG issue (I say issue as opposed to problem) because you and many others miss it. (I wouldn't hold my breath though).
At the end of the day, if the box delivers the channels on a consistent basis then I can live with that.

I completely agree. I think they're one of the best boxes out there and extremely easy to set up. I'd just like to have my box working 100%. I miss having the EPG working from firmware 7.44. When I say they're hard to buy, they were one of the first cable boxes of their kind that were available on eBay over a year ago but now they can't be found on it at all. That as you say may be down to their popularity. There are however a large amount of other cable receivers avgailable. I am aware of other places to buy the Replay Lite...one is bulk only and the other is a hardware shop here in Dublin who's selling them for ?250 but that's a ridiculous price to pay.
As for holding my breath...I'm going blue in the face already! (",)
It's such a pity that it's a great box but with terrible support from the software developers / manufacturers.

Great help on this site, i entered in 0000 and unlocked it and set new password to 7777
all this is completely new to me, so how do i go about getting the new firmware 7.56 ?
is there a link.
also when i save it to the desktop, how can i install it on the replay litebox?
do i need some sort of a cable from the replay lite to the pc?
is it a matter of just running a file on box?
simple as that?
i can see some sort of light at the endof the tunnel but right now its a long tunnel :) ive been at this the last few hours and aint giving up :)

Yes, you will need to get a Null Modem cable. Maplin Product Code: L71BT.
Everything you will need to know is more then likely here already as far as instructions go. EKO's link at the bottom of many posts is also a goldmine for resources. Read as much as you can find the time to & you won't be long getting up to speed. Aside from that, if there is something you don't understand or can't find, post here and you will get an answer.

can you also confirm that firmware 756 will work with Ch***s in Ireland on the Replay Lite.
i have 752 and i keep getting Scrambled on the stations even though i added in the ID's for 0x5E which was mentioned in a previous spread?

My understanding is that yes it will in most parts.
There have been some reports that people in certain areas are struggling with low signal but I don't have all the bumf on that.
One thing is for sure though! if you are to have any chance you must have v7.56 installed to receive Cho**s in Ireland.

ok this might sound a bit stupid.
im picking up the cable in maplins today.
when i connect the box to the pc.
do i just run the firmware 756 file on the desktop?
is there any other file i need to run.
there will probably be a drive once the pc picks up the replay lite once all connect, i then run it on that right.
should it take long to run and how do i know it has finished installing to the box.
Do i just check the version in the menu option to verify it has been updated.
there is a SW: version and a HW version
do both need to be updated?

Not quite like that.
You need to go to http://eko.4shared.com/
Download STBLink from the software section.
Connect the box to the PC via the cable.
Run STBLink on your PC.
Load the firmware into STBLink (Via the "Upgrade Software" button).
Upload it to the box (Via the "Upgrade Software" button).
You will see its progression on screen.
Be Patient & wait until it finishes.

The STBLink software has a "Upgrade Software" button which will allow you to locate the downloaded firmware on your PC.
Just as a by the way Steve, you will need a 9 Pin serial port on your PC to connect the Null Modem cable. A lot of the newer PC's don't have them.
If yours does not? you either need to find someone who has or else you will need to get a USB to Serial 9 - Pin Male Adapter.
This can also be purchased from Maplin. Product Code: ZP43W

so for NTHELL its 752 software and CH***s its 756
is that right.
My parents have NTL if it doesnt work for me, i could give it to them and watch the football over there:)but it wouldnt be the same.!
i.e are the ID Identifers different to NTHELL and Ch***s i.e 0x53
different settings?
both NTHELL and C are now the one company but obviously still using different services between the two?
i dont know if you already answered this.
On the replay lite box there is a SW version
and a hardware version
when i install the firmware does it only update the SW on the box?
and not the HW obviously correct?
HW is only the Replay Lite model?
is there specific models that are good and bad?

A few people have had problems in some area's, It's could be nhell are doing work in the area or some people have problems when sending the signal to the box via a splitter.
Best bet is to always take the signal from the connection on your wall directly to the box.
0000scrambled usually means the box is locked.
1800scrambled is what you usually see if a channel is off the air.
To unlock the box,
Then go to menu,
User Installation
Parental lock
Current password 0000 if not try 7777
Parental lock ?off
Install lock ----off
New password 7777
Confirm password 7777
Exit to TV Screen,
You need to go to parental lock again
Current password
Type 7777
Goto key manager.
Current key----OK
Auto update -----off
Exit to TV screen and you should be sorted.

I am sending the signal to the box via a splitter.
i dont have any other option because the Ch&&&s box has a different connection and doesnt go straight into the Replay Lite Box.
thats why i need a splitter.
if this is going to be a problem after i install 756 then im going no were with this...!! im not going to get this working.
Is there anyone in Cho&&s land using a replay lite with a SPLITTEr between there cho**s box and there replay lite box ?
please thell me there is for the love of god :(
