7.43a is the base firmware for the Replay PVR box (the one with the hard drive) its not for the Replay Lite. If you have a PVR please read the previous page in detail the posts from pegg4550 and Brian1956 on the previous page. The links are also posted there. Any problems or questions just post them here and we will see what we can do to get you sorted.

Hey Novice,

Turns out the cable they sold me last friday was a standard one not a NULL MODEM, even though I asked in the shop for a null modem 9 pin female to female, the girl obviously didn't know what she was talking about (neither did I!) Have ordered null modem from dabs.ie, should have it in a couple of days. Thanks.

So everyone, make sure cables are null modem, not standard.

The 9.10 firmware was added to the library by Celtic. Its not a new one. The only new firmware available is the 9.13 which is for the Replay PVR box. Its not suitable for the Replay Lite.

Just another pointer which might save you a bit.

If the Replay already has v7.52 onboard you can flash straight with 910 (No need to do the 7.42a first)

This is not in anyway an attempt to undermine Brian's instructions because they do work fine. It's just that I had quite a few to do over the last Wk & found that I had no problem going straight from 7.52 to 910 & they are all working gr8.

Hi Novice,

If that's the case? I just noticed that 743a is described in Emo's as for the Replay Lite? Maybe someone could update that to avoid confusion?

Hey Brian, How was the little break over the weekend lol ;-)

Now that things are a little quieter, you might get 913 for the PVR added to the Library?

Tis a wee bit early for Celtic to be floating lol

No Clones to my knowledge.

This is what I done on all of the ones I updated & they're all happy.

How To Upgrade (Flash) Replay Lite: (NTL Ireland)

Connect the null modem lead to the box and your PC.
Open up the Stblink
Untick ?Maintain User Data?
Click the Upgrade software button.
Browse to the 910 firmware file on your PC.
From when you start to see the blocks transfer, it takes 4 Mins Approx for the box to be updated.
But make sure you see the led flashing much more quickly than it did when the blocks were transferring. If you leave for even 5 mins it will be OK.
Unplug everything and head for the TV.

Connect the power lead only.
Wait for the led to flash red/green and then stay on green.
If it does not turn green pretty quick, use the remote to turn it on.
Then connect SCART and TV cables.
You might have to unplug the box again and then power it up for a second time.

Now: Do a full scan. (Should only take 5 Min Approx)

Menu
User Installation
Auto Search
Start Frequency: 290
End Frequency: 403
Symbol Rate: 6887 (If not available, type it in manually)
Constellation: 64 QAM
Search by Network: On
Search

When all available channels are found select the ?View? button.
Goto a premium channel and wait for the box to unscramble.
?Be patient, it may take a few minutes.

Finally, check & confirm your settings:

Menu
User Installation
Parental lock
Current password 0000
Parental lock ?off
Install lock ----off
New password 7777
Confirm password 7777
Goto Key Manager
Current Key?.OK
Auto Update on
Exit back to the main menu.

Yes, that would be safest.

One point which can?t be emphasised enough though, is this,

?When the flash completes & the light on the Replay flashes quickly & continuously from green to red, STOP

& wait for another minute before you disconnect?.

Premature disconnection can corrupt the flash process.

Anyone know where else (in Dublin) I could get the null modem cable other than Maplins? Told me in Blanch on Friday that they'd have them on Sat, then on Monday, then Tuesday and today they're not sure!
Thanks - and especially thanks to everyone who posts the codes and the flash update instructions.
