I'll probably be suspended for even asking, but does anyone know why there's now a ban on posting the codes? Someone mentioned in a post a few pages back that it was because some people were breaking the rules. I looked at the posting rules but I'm not sure I understand which rules people were breaking that caused the new 'no codes' rule to be implemented.
BTW, thanks to the help and advice from people in this forum, I managed to flash my box successfully. I got the null modem cable (in Peats, for half what it cost in M*plins!) and the instructions here were just perfect. Thanks again, especially to Brian, Gman and Moggser...

I think it's because so many people were asking for codes, and they weren't even bothering to read the last page of posts which usually already had all the codes on them. So they were clogging up the site and people were getting annoyed cos they were just asking the same stuff over and over without looking at what was already there.
If you have flashed your Replay you can see the codes yourself now and there's also a toolbar on another site that gives codes. See my post above for the link.

Guys, I'm trying to update the box with the new software.
When I try to open the STB link to save the favourites and click on 'set up comm' I am given a choice between COM1 and COM2. However my laptop only has the ports COM3, COM5 and COM6. Is there a way around this

How to change the COMM. Port number in Windows.
Do the following.
START
Right Click "MY COMPUTER"
Choose "MANAGE"
In the resulting window, click on "DEVICE MANAGER"
In the right hand pane, click on the little plus sign beside "PORTS" in the right hand pane.
Right click on the USB Adapter (Should be something like "Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm. Port (COM#)
Choose "Properties"
Click on "PORT SETTINGS" TAB
Click on "ADVANCED"
Then you will see the COM Port Number Box. You should be able to change it there using the drop down box.
Try to set it to COM2
Restart Windows
Set STBLink to COM2 & try to connect.
If that fails try another port number.

after updating tthe box and was doing a powerscan but nothing coming in..the only problem i noticed when going through the menu is smart card error is showing..can anyone help..thanks in advance

Anyone gots the codes for nthell dublin, Just back from a holiday and all lost with codes :)

i think its a good idea to also stop the codes as people are to lazy or just not bothered to read back a few pages and the people here who are fantastic helpers dont get paid!!! and the last message proved it!! wd all the moderators and the usual gang now put your feet up and let them search or buy the bloody cables themselves instead of wasting your time which could be well better spent with your families...

help !!!!.i,ve been trying unsuccessfully for ages now to update. i got a 9 pin to usb cable from a mate but couldnt get it to work at all with laptop. then bought usb to rs232 cable off fleabay.this came with a driver disc but still cant get it to work [when i tried to run the stb link the computer froze and i had to shut down manually,when i restarted this message came up "usbsafe;fatal error x support only windows98". are both of these cables no use? where in dublin can i get a cable to connect the null modem to the computer and do i need drivers to make it work?

bankie also gman said he had a uk channell list and frequencies under his signature so might help you out.

I've just updated the box to 910
I can see the new interface but at the very last step when I have to click on Current Key nothing happens - ie I don't get into the next screen where I would select auto update
Can anyone help?

Well done on updating the box.
The 910 software's Current Key is ON by default so you don't have to go near it.
If your box is unscrambling the channels it's set OK.

Bankies,
If you want to do a full scan these are your settings UK.
Menu,
User Installation,
Auto Search....OK
Start Frequency............290
End Frequency..............692
Symbol Rate................6887
Constellation..............64QAM
Search by Network..........ON
Search,
When all channels are found....select....VIEW.
Or if you are missing just a couple of channels,
Select the frequency from the list Gman posted for you
and do a Manual search as per the instructions I posted to you a few posts back.
You have shown great patience and should have all your channels up and running soon.
