I believe I got my 6th console back from the repair center today... first it was a core console and I sent in a premium, and second the dvd tray was cracked and wouldn't open/close without scratching disks! So it is back off to the repair center again for the 8th time!

that sucks. im just getting a new one. i almost have enough money just need $75 more. i should have a new one in a few weeks. did u ever get a reply for that letter that you sent. because i think this has gone to far. you need to be given a brand new console.

why would you want to work mcdonalds anyway. you would smell like french fries all the time. im going to try to get a job at target after my birthday. you have to be 16 to work there so i only need to wait 3 weeks to start working.

What a joke your still well inside the warranty period but what's more unbelieveable is you no longer have the original xbox that you bought & instead was given nothing more than a load of 2nd hand units,yes that's right they have already been used and if i was to buy one from the local store they would not be full retail price,no refurbished equipment ever is at full retail,i don't get it the warranty surely makes no mention that if it fails & can't be repaired that that they'll replace it with a 2nd hand version instead of new,which i believe is what your entitled too
As for can't be repaired "EXSCUSE ME" microsoft each console is nothing more than a load of parts bolted togeather so if a part fails it CAN be replaced ffs what a load of freak'n crap

I don't want to work at McDonald's I was using that as an example. To tell you the truth I cant remember the last time I ate at Macdonald's! When I turn 17 I am going to get a Job at Longview Fiber and help manage their severs and web sites. It pays $13.50 starting... I basically already have that job because my dad is the supervisor for that section...

its M$ they won't even respond. they will just say they got nothing! then nobody can do anything! if they respond then you might have written something in that letter that scared them. but do you know how hard it is to scare them? they have all the money in the world to get good lawyers!

I dont know if you can do this in USA, but in Australia you can kick up alot of shit if you get incontact with the media and they usually resolve this kind of stuff fast because no one likes bad publicity.
Bullshitting about sending new units to customers, Dead on arrivals, cracked cases.
8th unit wow that sucks.

damn they control the world. if they shut down all windows systems in a day with some hack or crap the world would stop spinning.
we can't do anything. this can be shown by how m$ bans people right before Halo 3 release and instead of fighting back they go buy even more expensive elites!
what a good solution.
w.e its their idea of handing more cash in their hands. others feel it was expected since we knew the risks of modding. W.e idk!

Because if we can get enough information and users experiences with the Microsoft repair center doing shoty repairs, KGW will go to Microsoft them selfs and confront them on this issue!

Hope it works out for you D. I would suggest you also provide links to other sites that have similar posts on this topic to further support this MAJOR problem that MS continually does not even address. As well as links to news articles and youtube videos (which in my opinion would be the best since there are hundreds).

Oh no problems here man, just showing you my support. I've read countless threads on countless forums of people having problems with their "I'll send you a box, send us the 360" issues before. You've gotten 8? That's the most times I've seen it but others with 6 or 5 times. Their CS sucks and needs to be addressed.

Hi There,
My console died after 6 month and I returned it to Costco for a new one. I did not need to go through the repair center but I was very upset that after only 6 months i needed a new unit. Returning was a big headache because I lost all of my arcade games and expansion maps - now I have to be logged into live in order to play the full version of these games I have paid for with my hard earned money. If my internet dies or I take my xbox elsewhere I will not be able to play my arcade games - this is wrong in my opinion. So although I did not deal with the reapir center a poorly designed unit caused me much frustration. Plus since when are we forced to treat an electronic device like a fragile peice of glass - i need to stock dry ice next to it just to keep from overheating.

to help this process....
i just started on my 3rd console. The first one could never go longer than an hour without saying disc scratch or dirty disc. The console was out in the open with lots of air and sat horizontal but it would scratch games, especially the sports games, mlb 2k7 in paticular. I called MS and the tech wanted me to sit on the phone for an hour and play a game until it messed up. I told her that was absurd and asked her what that would do, she told me she wouldnt take my console back unless I did that first. She also refused to refund me money for the game if i sent it to show the scratching. Why cant they refund me?...sony did with the ps2. I told her to eff off and took it to best buy because i had a 2 year replacement warranty. Best buy replaced it and I paid 65 dollars for another 2 yr replacement plan. That was in January. A few days ago, my 2nd console started messing up again. It was making a grinding noise and scratching disc. I let it sit for a few hours and when i put a game back in, it said disc unreadable on every game i put in. I took it back to best buy and got my 3rd console and paid another 65 dollars for a 2 year warranty as Im sure this console will end up going belly up.
So I spent 400 for the console, and 65x3 for warranties for a grand total of 595. Plus another 65 dollars for the mlb 2k7 game that was ruined making it 660 all together. Hope this helps...MS is exactly whats wrong with American business today.
