In a copyright lawsuit issued Digital Digest, two separate court orders have been issued to seek out personal data as well anything ... [ read the full article ]

Every f***ing Sony employee who was a serious part in this should get shot. I mean stuff like this...
Quote: the administrator of the site has been banned from providing any DVD backup support on any website.
Quote: one of the developers had personal items seized from their residence
Quote: Digital Digest was ordered to not include any forums that discussed DVD backups
its just messed up.

Be funny if these developers, as a last stand, made the software open source as a final parting one fingered salute.

I don't have a problem with sony for the most part but what disturps me is that the court order is making it illegal for someone to post information about DVD backup. This is the scariest part and destruction of that persons rights.
I also want to say if you have a copy of the program just torrent it for people to get, lol.

This was in an Aussie court? Why don't they just migrate the servers over the net to a few mirrors in other countries, and then let the courts fight for 10 years about who has jurisdiction. Hell, put a mirror in Switzerland & another in the Caymans, and they'll never shut it down.

ya sony made 10 billion off emo spidy 3 but lost 3 on the PS3 plus they are kinda disembodied heads when one dose not make moeny the others cannibalize it,if the PS3 dose not start making money back soon they will drop it or damage it further it in some way(removing more hardware but not lowering consumer price).

That's a shame -- that's really nice software. But it's not going to change anything, and they'll be back in a week.
What cracks me up about Sony is that they will put their super secret heavy duty encryptions on a vague, children's movie that failed at the box office, but then it won't be on a rated R adult action film that did rather well at the box office. It's stupid.
The DVD and movie industry is just retarded. I don't know why they don't just give up and price their DVDs (and theatre movies) accordingly. Ask me when the last time was that I backed up an $8 DVD. That would be never. I just bought the stupid DVD instead. Back when movie theatre tickets were $4.00, ask me how many movies I simply waited on to come out on (then VHS) video? That would be none -- I just went to theatre and saw what I wanted.
I'm not going to pay $20 for a DVD and I'm not going to pay $10 to sit in an uncomfortable theatre (especially not with the widescreen and surround sound sitting in my family room at home with a rather comfy chair and a fridge). Both industries need to wake up and see the writing on the wall.

I guess this is the loudest way that arccos can shout "uncle"
And rightly so, because this software is the best, most ingenuous one yet. It even provides the user with a blow-by-blow account of what is being deciphered, and sweeps all the trash it rejects. This software delivers when all the others fail.
Sony has just made martyrs out of the developers of this software. I tip my hat off to them.

So what is the best combination, CloneDvd2 and AnyDVD or Ripit4me and dvddecrypter . Is it just because they are free programs and AnyDVD you have to pay for?

I wish someone could 'splain this to me: how can Sony (spit on the ground as I write it) get the free software taken down but it's perfectly legal to buy programs like CloneDVD and AnyDVD? Is it maybe because Sony (spit) owns them too and are profiting at both ends of this major clusterf--k?
I wish the developers of RipIt4me all the best and plan to boycott the Sony (spit) asswipes.
