also make sure that your NO UMD is disabled in the recovery mode (access this by turning your PSP off-hold power switch up 3 sec.- then while powering back up,hold down the R trigger button) once you are in recovery mode scroll to "configuration" to the option "use NO UMD" it will either say currently enabled-or disabled...you want disabled..after you are done..go back and exit out of recovery...then make sure you have a game in the slot (movies dont work)-should work for you just fine....

p.s. you can also change your cpu speed in the recovery mode as well-

If you don't have a UMD in the slot, then "use NO UMD" should be enabled. I've only been on this scene a month or so, but I don't remember the games not showing up at all. I would at least get something like "Corrupted Data". Your ISO folder isn't a sub-folder is it? It's one of the main ones with PSP, Game, Game150, etc.? Interesting problem. Please let us know what fixes it.

yea its in the root. Nothing shows up at all, its really wierd. So frustrating to take the time to figure out how to go from 3.03 to 1.5 and then to 3.40 oe-a, to then not be able to play iso's on it. Im really stuck, hoping someone can help me out.

You did say in an earlier post that...

The only thing i have changed in recovery is my cpu speed and a set theenel to 1.50

...Does that mean you haven't tried enabling or disabling "NO UMD" in recovery mode? It needs to be disabled with a UMD in the slot or enabled without one.

Any of you members out there recommend him downgrading back to 1.5 and back up again. Possible bad upgrade?

i haven't tried enabling or disabling. Would that change it from showing up or not though? It could be im just getting some bad iso's... If they were bad, would it show up anyway as corrupt or something though?

I think it's unlikely that's your problem, but I thought it'd be worth a shot. It seems like something would show up, which is why I wondered aloud if it could be a bad upgrade. The only iso's I've had that were "bad" either froze up the screen immediately or after the initial loading screen, but they showed up as games. I just don't see how you could connect with the USB cable, be able to look inside your ISO folder and see your game.iso file in there, but not see it at all on your PSP.

Does it effect the amount of memory left on your memory stick? Most iso's are between 100,000 MB and 1.8 GB. If the memory changes, but no games show up, then something is really screwy. However, if it makes no change at all, but you can see it when you have your PSP hooked up to your pc, well, then...something is really screwy.

Answer me this, when you try to access a file off your memory stick be it a game, music, movie, etc. does the memory stick light flash?

I had that problem with the games not showing up in the menu also, but they would take up the space on my memory stick..What I did was first go into the recovery console and make sure that the "no UMD" is disabled. as well as the others in the advanced config menu should be disabled-I also have my kernel set at the 3.40 rather than 1.50..(you should use the 1.5 kernel only for homwbrew)-I also found that some ISO's dont play nicely with others-for example if I have Lumines on the memory stick, and I add another ISO game to it-the other game wont show up in the menu..

Your best bet is to first format your memory stick, then maybe just load one ISO game at a time and see if that works for you-also be sure you have a game UMD in the slot so you dont get the 8000XXX21 error. YOu dont really need to mess with anything in the recovery console, just use the default settings-aside from maybe boosting your processor speed should your games be lagging.

If that doesnt work for you, then perhaps reflashing your firmware back to 1.5, and then up to 3.40OE-A-you might have gotten a corrupted file somewhere..

Hope this helps..

scrum was rite bout the no-umd enabling thingy. if u dont have a umd, u should enable the option and do it otherwise if u have one. but, some games for example 'monster hunter' cant be played without a umd. ive tried and it went loading a blank screen n frozes there.

nway, bout the files thats not appearing in the system went u turn ur psp on although they are already there in the memory stick. i had that prob at first. so, i tried formating my memory stick through my psp & it automatically makes all the folders needed for the system such as ISO, PSP, MP_ROOT, etc... n i put all the games or other files at their respected folders n everything went alrite as it should be. gratefully it worked for me. hope it helps. im still learning though. hey, im a newbie too. /(^_^)v

Like the other guy said, you should format your memory stick so it makes itself for you. Also, make sure to have a umd in.

I too have done all the above and it seems i can only get 4 games on my mem stick and only some will load with others and some will work with some but not others it is frustrating...at least i can get some games on until i figure this out as well. i tried re flashing with Flash1 Formatter v2 bit that did not help.
ANOTHER question... how do i get a recovery menu i have one with the flash thing but how can i get back to 1.5 from 3.40 oe a? I'd rather use devhook till i figure this out!!!

in recovery m0ode do u have the option that says "use no-UMD" to disable. the use no UMD feature is not very compatible at all. set it to disable. put in a game. and then try to run ur ISO.

yeah.

@cnj0_6 you are lucky if you can get 4 games on your memstick that work together, I still havent cracked that code yet-I am up to a three game-two emulator combination that works for me-if I try adding another iso-it either doesnt show up in the menu, or will just freeze at the beginning-even though that same game works perfect by itself! Its all trial and error man...
Look on psp-hacks for that 1.5 recovery though,

thats a packed archive you have there. if you have WinRAR, you can extract the iso and make it useable. What you want to do is find the first folder in the series that has the extension ".00" and extract that one to a folder on your computer, it will unpack all of those other numbered folders for you automatically.

yeah you could always try re-flashing to custom firmware once you go back to 1.5 or maybe try a different custom FW? one more stable like the 3.03OE? But if you can get the games on there like you have it now-I would be happy with that! maybe throw a couple movies and some mp3's on there to use up some of that extra memstick space?

@haasmon92-try Rodney Stiffington...-but you should PM me about that black32 theme you have advertised in your sig, I have it but I havent tried to put it on the psp yet.

nah, i do all of my mods manually. i didnt use flash agent. go into recovery, click on advanced, then go to toggle usb(flash0. when tat little box pops up go down to open folder to view files. u'll see six folders. ONLY open up the one called "vsh". once in vsh go to "resorce". u'll see the original them files in there. open up the black32 theme package and copy every thing into flash0/vsh/resorce EXCEPT: teh read me's and othere read me files and the Itn0.pfg file. u can just delete the read me's. once u have all the files in flash0/vsh/resorce, go back to the root of the flash0 memory. u'll see a file called "font" take the Int0.pfg file and put it in there. all done now! :D. when u turn ur psp on u may be greeted with a blank backround but u can still see the icons. go to setting, theme settings, and then theme and findthe white box thats under original and click on the white box. restart the PSP and u should have the theme installed.
