i am thinking of getting a ps3 but i want to know if my backed up ps2 games (which are on DVD-R and i use swap magic to run) will work in the PS3. Is there any way that they will work without me having to open up the PS3, maybe by downloading a homebrew software or doing something to the firmware of my ps3.
So right now if you have a blank dvd and you back up a ps2 game there is no way of being able to play it on the ps3? what will I have to do that? I already wasted 3 dvd's trying and it keeps going to media as a storage device. When all the info should be there stating its a game. Can anyone help me with a link or anything? cause i really would like to do this.

2. even if i buy the real version of usb extreme (the one that doesn't need a mod chip or swap magic to run) can i use an external hard disk (usb) to play backed up ps2 games.

1> YES... plays blue rays, DVD+R and -r provided that they are in .VOB format dvds I mean..
2> NO.. playing backups regardless would need some sort of mod, that isnt available...Neither USB Extreme,HD Advance, nor Loader work.....
3> NO... you cant.. if someones they know.. they are lieing....
People not tring to be rude.. please stop asking the same questions bout modding and playing PS2 backups.. Whenever it does happen, EVERYONE will know without having to ask, it will be posted ALL over every PS3 website known to man......
