Hurting the gaming industry!! Oh thats why they are not a multi million dollar making machine. I think i deserve a few free games after all the hundred thousands of pounds i have pumped into the developers hands only to recieve crap, buggy software. i have been purchasing games for over 20 year - If i download a game that i really think deserves my money, i will purchase it to support them - Otherwise i will share the crap games to the masses.

Hurting the gaming industry - Yeah right!

wiretrace i agree 100%.

A good game that I download, I will ALWAYS go out and buy. My behavior will do a small part in molding the gaming industry into something better, so we don't get all these crap games.

I mean, if someone won't even download your game for free, would you expect them to go and pay to buy/rent it??

Wow, you think people in this forum will agree with you. You think you can preach people here. Shut the... If I can download legal pirated material, I would. Since there is no such thing, I have to download illegal pirated stuff.

After weeks of trying three different premium Usernet providers, i have gone back to Giganews. They still have the fastest servers i have found and 100% complete files. Anyone else suggest a good cheap usernet provider?

There is no need for someone to tell you how the process works. Its really easy honestly!. Its as simple, just install newsbin pro and run it, setup your usenet account details ( Provided from your news provider ie giganews ). Next go to www.binsearch.info - type the name of game you want. create the NZB. Load up newsbin pro and off she goes?! What could be harder?? 2 hours later your game is there. Giganews is one provider - But also NNTPJunkie is very good and cheap! less retention time but 30 connections at one time ^^

Stuff the torrents.. To much time required

Awesome. I didnt realize it is that easy... I wonder why you cant rip a backup, What is different about the files? I wish they were exactly the same. Less chance of causing problems.

Rip a backup? What do you mean? Copy an original? if that is what you wish to know then this is the link for you http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/471073 . As for wishing all files are the same, do you mean all downloaded archives are the same?? Most are just rars or Zips - Almost expand to create an ISO that is burnt using any decent cd software. You wont regret using usernet - Its so fast!

If you are in the UK, can you get Giganews? On their site, I can only see prices in dollars...

Thanks

I use Easynews; it's pretty nice. I have a Gigabit connection and use the firefox add on DownThemAll so I can get a normal 4.5G game in about 20-30 minutes.

If you can't get Giganews in the UK, could anyone please recommend a good UK news server?

Yes i am in the U.K - Giganews will use your credit card and the currency will be converted via your bank to U.K Pounds. It does not matter where u live as its always done like this. http://www.nntpjunkie.com/ after months of trying is the best one, 30Gb per month = £7 U.K pounds and unused Mb`s roll over plus a bonus of free 125Mb per month, every month whilst u r a member sure is good!!

Hey Guys, I have been reading through some of the posts and this Giganews has got me interested. If i get an account with giganews and use binsearch to search for a wii game, will it just download the game no matter how old the game is? Surely it cant be that simple can it?

Firstly, you will need a client to start downloading- much like uTorrent for Bittorrent. If you have the cash to pay for Giganews, and you use Binsearch, you will need to create a NZB file for it and add it to your client (I use Newsbin Pro).

You could also use Newzbin but I don't as you have to pay for that. I already pay for Giganewsand for Newsbin Pro.

everything you need is in Slyck's guide.

http://www.slyck.com/ng.php

I think someone already linked to it in this thread. However old the Wii game is, it doesnt matter as long as it has been posted within the last 200 days, (well that's if you use Giganews, other servers vary.) It might get reposted by someone if it passes the 200 day limit.

Newsgroups are a bit harder to use than torrents, but once you get used to them, you'll discover just how great they are. I use Giganews and even though it's pricy, it's one of, if not THE, best.

Hope this helps : )

DO NOT sign up to this !!!

It is a con, designed to take money off newbies who don't know any better. All it is, is a list of torrents that you can access on any torrent search engine for free.

There are usually private forums for downloading games that use rapidshare or such like to store files. But you usually have to know someone to get in or do lots of searching on google and such.

But at the end of the day torrents are free and easy so why not use them.
