some people would call it entertainment... however after the 4th minute hiccup, yes it was nailbiting and heineken drinking stuff,just make sure lads we have no problems next week we need uninterupted coverage for a little job to do in Milan Ha! Ha!

Depends on wheter you have a Starview 1 or a Starview 2 called the box and if you have a SV1 wheter its a clone or genuine box, click the SV EV Info link at the end of my post to find out,

its a first model starview i gather from the pictures . when i try download api file it tells me ive wroing name in for it!! wud you know the correct name

its a genunine box alright.im tring to rrecover from a bad flash i cant download the api file . as soon as i hit download it says error:model name does not correct.

scouser ur the man worked on my first star view original i used this .....Another method you can use to recover from a bad flash, eg. the box won't boot to standby and is stuck
in pre standby, either after about 3 or 4 moving green lines the box sticks with the green line not moving
at all or it keeps moving forever. If the box will NOT RE-FLASH as normal from on or standby, try this but it
may take a few goes to work.
Connect the box to the pc with your cable but switch it off at the back. Load the correct
firmware bin file into GTRom & set it to the correct com port, and select App file only then hit Download.
Only then switch on at the back to power on the box. It may take a few sec. so wait at least 30 sec.
(If it doesn't work 1st time try also waiting a couple of sec. to switch on after pressing download in the loader.) It may take more than 1 try to work, but eventually you'll see the loader kick in and the % bar increase. You won't see the % on the Starview though. Only green lines moving left to right. Towards the end of the flash you'll see a message in GTRom saying FLASH BURNING. Then it will reach 100% and wait for the download complete pop up box to appear & the box will reboot back to factory setup. You will have lost any channel data previously on the box & will need to rescan & switch on EMU and set the box up from scratch.
If you don't know the state of the box switch it on see what happens see if there already has been a channel
scan done before-meaning there are channels on it working or not. If so tune to an unencrypted channel as above
then standby then re-flash.
it worked on one box but not another starview thats the newer starview it is origibal also.(not the box)

Yep thats the bad flash method and did you fix the gtrom loader as per my message? Last line is a bit vague in your post are you sorted or do you still have a problem with one box.

i fixed the gtrom in reg all right and i manage=d to get first starview working again wit the bad flash instructions i found on this . with the same instructions i cant get the newer bigger original starview to work. any idea s on that one .sorry to b a pain (",)

hello scouser, can you help my brother has an old sv clone, tried 257ee fixed, i knew we were in trouble when download from computer was going quick and sv was slow, ever since all we see is line moving as it seachers. turned off sv and back on,no joy is it the bin or what?
