Xbox vs. PS3

Okay so at first i wantd to get an Xbox 360 after playing one at my friends house. But soon after i played a PS3 and i loved it so much more, but at the time the price drop hadent taken place. I wanted and Xbox 360 so i figured i would get the Xbox 360 eleite(sp?) which came to $470. But recently the PS3's price droped to $500. So should i get a PS3 or an Xbox, both systems have games i really want comming out, the PS3 will have Metal gear solid 4, ratchet and clank 5, Assasin's creed and such. While the 360 will have Halo3, Fable 2, and Gears of war 2. So please help ,me figure this out, im ready for some true Next Gen

ok the consoles are more or less the same and i own a 360, personally rite now it has better graphics, so go with the elite,and when the ps3 and its blu-ray hits a changing point for the better, like more games an ps3 home is released, get one of them, they will have dropped even more in price. plus there is no talk for gears of war 2 yet.

I know for a fact i am NOT getting both systems, and whats the bad thing about blueray? it tops Dual Layer DVD's that the 360 uses. And just so you know, im not gonna be getting one of them till the end of this year. And i thought the PS3 was the king in graphics?

Why does everryone insist on opening a thread were people are going to argue with one another and in the end will be closed? Here is whats gonna happen people from both side are gonna make strong arguments for the system they own, for example ps3 has bluray and the 360 can be modded and you are not gonna get an answer to your problem. Do a little research and find out which system best fits your needs as a gamer and thats the system you should get.

Not trying to start something... but he's right. This will just turn into a flame war and get closed. Like it has every time before.
You asked for an opinion. Then came back with "blu-rays better" and "PS3's graphics are better. And that's how it all begins.
PS3 just had a price drop and the 360 has a reported upcoming price drop on the 8th.

So you should research which console has what games you want now and get that one. Don't rely on what other's say as in the end it's you that has to live with it.
btw, Assassin's Creed is for the 360, also. And Konami hasn't outright denied that MGS4 won't make it to the 360. That was Sony saying that. There's still alot of speculation.

bazookafx, the easiest thing for you to do would have been to do a search. As this topic has been covered a number of times before.
And the people stating that it will only turn into a flame post or arguments do so because they probably either read or participated in the previous threads.
a simple end to this post is above. Look at the games for each, decide which line up you like best, then buy that system.

I posted a simal article in the PS3 section and ive been getting so much help, so =P. Goes to show xbox users are much more argumentative. All the stress from the 'red ring of death'?

I'm sorry but that's funny.
Anyways, like everyone else said, look at the games and then decide, if you have to have Halo get a 360, if you want KillZone2 get a PS3, or whatever your favorite games are for each system.

here is a nice fact that might help you. I have a friend that has the Wii, PS3, and the XboX360. He uses the Xbox360 90% of the time for his gaming needs. The Wii only about 10%, and uses the PS3 to watch blu-ray HD movies.
as of this post. I believe that you will get more fun out of the xbox360 than any of the others. Just until Sony catches up with the game selection.
And of course, this is my opinion only, and is not meant to flame or upset the folks with other game consoles.

You ask in the 360 forum you'll get "buy the 360". You ask in the PS3 forum you'll get "buy the PS3". We suggest not being lazy and doing some research (which is to your own benefit), and you come back with bullshit comments like this and say WE'RE the ones trying to start an arguement?
Why not show a little bit of maturity. Do some research and come back with serious questions. You'll find that we'll be more than willing to offer answers. You're not a noobie, so you should know this.
I'm not trying to be negative here... but you're just going to get this thread closed yourself, considering the comments you've been leaving.
To sum up your answers so far in this thread:
- both consoles had/having a price reduction
- both have killer graphics
- 360 has many more games to choose from ... but has hardware problems
- PS3 has very few games ... but no hardware problems
If you would have done some research, you would have found out that this fall the 360 is to be released with new 65nm processors. This combined with the new heat sinks should take care of the heat issue (which is the main source of the hardware failure). You said you're not buying until November or December. So you should be able to get the new model with no problem.
