Question:
Does the battery have to be 100% charged before, during, and/or after the process?

There is no excuse NOT to mod! Don't follow the rules, make them!

I don't know. But I would plug in the battery charger just incase.

Wait, you can't create a Jigkick battery and the magic memory stick on firmware 2.71. Okay, you use HEND to use Devhook which emulates 1.5. Then you have to format the memory stick but the firmware is on the memory stick. Anyways, just say you format the memory stick before hand, and then you put Devhook. Would that work? Because then what's the point in formatting? And besides just say if you do this on a 256MB memory stick pro duo, as recommended, Devhook takes up about 200MB. Then you'll only have about 56MB to work with. I don't know. It's complicated. Hmm, maybe you can emulate the firmware with a normal memory stick, then switch the memory sticks and run the programs necessary. Would that work?

When I double click on mspformat or whatever it comes up for about half a second and disappears. I have my PSP plugged in with the usb connection and everything and it doesn't work. Someone help me, I feel stupid. =D

@glenguag

The problem is you need to execute mspformat from the command prompt. Heres how
first open the command prompt (Start -> Run -> CMD -> )
and then type ‘c:’ type ‘cd c:\pandora\mspformat’ and then type mspformat (in my case W) – ‘mspformat W’ your done.

Oh wait. I just calculated how much space Devhook would take up and it's about 25MB.

Ok I guess I dont know exactly what you are trying to do, and why you keep asking if this can be done running 2.71-and talking about emulating 1.50, and devhook? C'mon man devhook is SO 2005...

If you are trying to downgrade your firmware (2.71) to make it homebrew-friendly-then why not just use the "ultimate downgrader guide" found on qj.net to do so...And I think I have linked it for you in another thread where you were asking the same thing- Then after you downgrade, you can then make the pandora battery or whatever the hell it is you are trying to do...You are making it way too complicated for your own good...You are going to end up giving yourself an aneurysm at the rate you are going..

brendan the only reason u need the homebrew enabled psp is because if its not homebrew enabled u cant run the programes on the psp. for example if u try to run devhook on 2.71 without hen, it will say data corupt or something and it wont read the devhook programe. thats what i think anyone else got any ideas.
