Which one are you using?
It sounds like you are missing files from your memory stick that are required for booting your psp into service mode.

WTF!!! everywhere i go people are talking about the totalnewbie easy installer. i downloaded it. then i hard modded my psp battery with soldering iron (IM A PRO) and when it cuts on with the battery it shines green (which supposetly is good which means i did it right) Now for the F*cked up part the easy installer puts files on the memory stick and says its finish
when i put the ms in the psp with the modded battery the wlan or magic gate does not light up
I also read in many forums tht u have to go in the start up menu on an windows xp (i have vista and tht) and run cmd.
when i do all thth cd C:\msinst
and
msinst E:\msipl
the sh*t tells me some bunch a f*ck about
cannot something blocking
wTF ive been at this for 4 hrs now im worried all this is a bunch of bullsh*it arghhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The install doesn't work with Vista, have you got access to an XP computer?

F*ckin annoying i hardmodded my battery wit da soldering iron and all tht sh*t an ran totalnewbie easy installer yea
then it put files on the mem stick of course i formated it b4 it did this as in the instructions
now i put in the modded battery and supposed magic mem stick an
only the power light turns on by it self
so i wait a while and still nothing form the mem or wlan lights
so wtf
omg this gives me a head ache a

i have a xp desktop and i read it doesn't wrk on vista ok soo wahh

My girlfreind juss shouts at me constantly for F*ckin up her battery
wtf can i do to make this memory card turn into a magic mem card

hey all these steps make a good tutorial but what if smone hasnt got a psp with custom or1.5 firmware..is there a chance for him to downgrade his psp?

Yup.Using the traditional way lik GTA or Lumines UMD. But they'll only work till a certain version. If I didn't remember wrongly,as long u got 3.60 and above,those ways won't work. I hope that helps.
To find out ways of using traditional way,you can go to psp-hack website or search around here ^^

Yeah ^_^
Well, GTA Liberty City Stories (Unpatched) is for ofw 3.03 and
Lumines is for ofw 3.50 :)
But both of them are darn rare games :D
You'll find them on ebay though >_>
I downgraded my PSP using the pandoras hack and darn my PSP really roxXx 8)
I mean my PSP is a GBA, SNES, a psx and a PSP (DUH ?!?) too !!! 8)

please i dont know my problem and i wanna know from the experts of afterdawn.....Though am semi-noob but i followed pandora's instructions and i was made to know i was successful because i confirmed the Magic memory stick worked 4rm the MSDOS thing and the Pandora battery process worked after running installations in psp but when i placed the battery n stick on my psp i wanna downgrade it automatically comes on but shows a black screen(it dont show any menu telling me to downgarde)........please help and many people complain of this smae black screen....Or is that what i downloaded were fake? and i have done this over and over again but the same thing? Sicdude, lord n all experts please help me for once thanks.

It sounds like you are missing files on your memory stick-that is the reason you are not getting a menu to pop up- I would recommend using the guide found HERE to remake your memory stick so you can at least downgrade with it-
If you are still having problems after using the pandora v1 guide I posted above-Then have a look at the thread I posted for creating the ultimate pandora memory stick-Which can be found <HERE>
(This one does not require using your computer to write the IPL to the memory stick-It is all done from your psp-You can make the memory stick, and the battery by just following the steps.

Are u downgarding your PSP Slim/lite? From what I know,on previous versions of Pandora,the menu wont show up on a Slim's screen,due to some bug,but u can still press X to continue downgrading your PSP Slim. But if you're using a phat PSP,what you can try is to press the brightness button,I've met with tis inccident before and the pressin of brightness did work for me. This is my suggestions to you if you wanna try some more before announcing your Pandora has been done wrongly. If all else fail,pls tk the advice from dEEz,he's da man! ^^

^^Thats true, if you are trying to use the original Pandora setup to downgrade (or enhance) a slim psp, it wont work...You will need to add the DesperatoDelCementario v3 files to your memory stick so you can get it to work on your slim if thats the case..Otherwise if you are just using it for a fat psp, then you should just remake the memory stick like I suggested earlier.

Yes, it works fine-you are just not doing something right...
Use the guide found HERE--In your case seeing that you have a battery already made, you can skip steps 8-13...

Well you would probably want to do that now while you have a functioning PSP-otherwise it wont do you much good when your psp is bricked and you dont have the battery on hand. Which is why its recommended that you get a spare battery and leave it as a pandora battery in case of "emergencies".
And besides, PSP's normally dont just brick on their own-they get bricked from inexperienced people messing with something they shouldn't be messing with...causing the brick.
As long as you dont do something foolish and wipe out the contents of the flash0 folders, you would be fine...If you can get into recovery mode-it can be saved.

deez, i follow ur method to get my batt n ms pandorised. now my prob is, ms n wifi led blinks. power lite on. screen pitch black. it happened after i format my memo stick. help pls? btw, ur method works fine 4 me. only that i go n format my ms.

If you formatted your memory stick it becomes a normal memory stick again, and will not bring up the pandora menu-you will have to remake the memstick in order to get it to work. Otherwise press the brightness/contrast button and see if that lights up your screen.

You can use whichever one that is easiest for you-They all work pretty much the same. Some are just more complicated to install than others..
