i've read and read and read and couldnt' find anyone with my problem, so i propose it to you guys. I made the magic mem stick and the battery just fine, it works on other psp's but when I put it on the psp that i just recently bricked. I was running 3.71 m33 and was testing out a bunch of custom themes that I got from a friend. I decided to shut it off, because it was dying and go plug it in. I go to get it, an hour later, and I turn it on and the power LED comes on, then goes off after about 30 seconds, the screen doesn't light up, nothing. so I went to use pandora on it, and low and behold, that does nothing, all the LED's come on, the power, mem stick, Wi-Fi, but the screen doesn't respond, and all the LEDs just stay on, no flashing, nothing. so can any of you tell me, exactly what, my problem is?

May I ask,did you use the theme changing function or u flashed your flash0 to do your themes? From your quote,I can only ASSUME these MIGHT be your problem..

1 - When you did your Pandora, you've themes on it,therefore created a semi-bricked Pandora (Which is like mine..) Set it back to original themes, clear your gameboot, fonts etc & re-create your Pandora.

2 - There might be a possibility that your battery is the cause, try using a spare battery or plug your PSP into the AC adapter WITHOUT your battery.

3 - Try playing around with the brightness setting which is located beside your 'mute' button OR try tilting your PSP to check if there is a faint screen (Sometimes it might be your backlight that is defected).

If it is none of the above assumption I've stated, please give us more details ^^

I was using the custom themes function in the themes part of the system settings on 3.71 m33 and I did try out a bunch, one after another, which I think may have messed something up. I didn't flash anything, I don't trust myself to flash.

I can't get to my Recovery Menu, because when I turn it on, the power LED comes on, and the screen stays blank(no backlight, not even power on sound.) Then it just shuts off. Therefore, I figured I'd bricked my PSP and set to work creating a Pandora battery on my other PSP I have, which the backlight is defective but i can see enough to get the pandora programs working.

Now when I put my "Magic" Memory stick in, and then the Pandora battery, it turns on, and all three LEDs turn on as well, but the screen remains black, no backlight, not even the hint of an image. I tried pushing the X button, in case the screen wasn't working and the Memory Stick LEDs just stay on, no flashing, nothing. I tried hitting the Brightness button as mentioned in other posts, but not even that works. I'm at a loss here, and i'm astonished because my PSP had worked perfectly not seconds before I tried rebooting it in Recovery.

Hmm..I believe your PSP has indeed bricked..I had this problem too when I was on 3.71M33,I couldnt wait but tried changin the themes. It's safest to change your themes when you're on 3.71M33-2

For now,if I were you,I'll try re-making Pandora using another method and ignore da Desperado 3 thingy. Juz downgrade to 1.5 and slowly upgrade back to 3.52M33-4 den continue off with the Desperado thingy. Make sure your PSP has no themes or watsoever changed for the Pandora you've created will cause a PSP to Semi Bricked. I hope this help ^^

Thanks for all your help tutukuay. It's late here, though, and i need to get to bed, so I'll try again in the morning, If I can't get it unbricked by myself, I know someone who I can pay to do it. ^-^

Gah! I finally get it to run, and the damned thing freezes on "Formating Flash0", I read somewhere I need a NandTool because it's a problem with my partition table, and that I should dump my Nand and repair it with that, so that's what I'm going to do.

I'll let you guys know if that works.

Eehh...Sorry to double post, haven't figured out how to edit on this board yet.

Anywho, the NANDTool got it working just great, followed the instructions for it, and now it's finally installing 3.71 m33 as I type. Though, i've learned my lesson not to chance the themes until updating to the most recent. x3. Thank you all again, for all your help, i'm soooo happy I got this to work. ^_^

Well when you get those bugs worked out let us know-You should also use that time to brush up on your grammar as well if you want anyone to take you seriously...In the meantime we will stick to what we have, thanks...

@RiKrOk -Yes you can charge it like that, or you can have the psp turned off as well-Just plug in the charger, and then the battery.

I've heard that said before by loosers that are just jealous because they can't get custom firmware and want to get back at "us"

You say this like you think it'll make you sound cool? I don't think the FBI would do anything anyway, it's really up to Sony if they wanted to press any charges against you for altering their copyighted material.

Anyway, we'll see, i'll be the first to bet £20 that they won't release :)

What if I already have a pandora battery. Will this work just to convert the memory stick into a "magic memory stick"?

If you've already created the Magic stick, the Pandora battery need not be fully charge, but if you're trying to create the magic stick using Pandora Battery, sorry,u have to use a normal battery to create your magic stick ^^

What do you mean? Don't you just install all the files with the easy installer into the mem stick? I didn't think you needed a regular batt if you already have a pandora batt and the easy installer. Or is it because I'm using a memory card reader instead of the PSP?

Ahhh, with a card reader and this, no, it won't, this installs programs you need to run on the PSP, for an installer that doesn't need the PSP, you'll need the original Pandora GUI, i wish i could find it, but everywhere has taken it down (Illegal).
