I had the same problem before. I did a full format and that took care of my problem.

For future reference you have a format utility under system settings.

This happened to me on Tuesday night, playing online Resistance and the screen froze and some scrolling text appeared on the top left hand of the screen, promptly switched the PS3 off at the back and when i started it up i got the corrupted message. Phoned sony straight away and i got one sent out to replace it on the thursday, i didn't fancy formatting it on the pc.

60gb launch PS3.....50" Sony Bravia.....LG 5.1 surround..... gaming heaven.

SATA is the upgrade from IDE, i dont think that enclosure will work, your saying you want to have an extrenal hard drive to your ps3? I think thats possible, might be hard to get t othe connectors as there in that cramped space.
