I have managed to get 2hours 12 minutes onto a standard DVD-5. Most of the right-ups say about 2 hours is standard. However, I have two films that I cannot shrink satisfactorily. One is 1 hour 42 and the other is 1 hour 55. The first generates a size of just over 4.5GB after IFOEDIT and the second is a wopping! 6.23GB. I have stripped out everything that I am able to strip out (I think!), but am not able to shrink the size to below the 4.5GB threshold. Does anybody have any ideas as to why certain films give this problem and how to I get round it? if it can be got around!!

It depends on the movie's bitrate (bitrate.cfm" class=korostus target="_blank">http://www.afterdawn.com/glossary/terms/bitrate.cfm http://www.afterdawn.com/glossary/terms/vbr.cfm) and nothing else. I can put 18 hours of DVD video on one DVD-R, just with lower bitrate -- higher the bitrate, better the picture quality and vice versa. Max. bitrate for DVD-Video is around 9Mbps.
