As far as i know, nothing new was released with this update, so it most likely an attempt to screw mod chip users over.

just wanted to know since mine is already 3.0U and didnt even update it to 3.1U
just curious, is it even safe to update it to 3.1U?
has anyone tested it out?

since there's no reason to update, i personally woud'nt, unless i must, to play SSBB or SMG.

Just because I figured no one else would.
I updated w/ Wiikey. Still plays backups, can't tell what it did at all.

but for us that can't resist the urge, if we update from 3.0 to 3.1 will it mess up the wii at all? a chipped wii that is.. has any one upgraded with a wiikey installed and had no problems?

Yes as posted above, updated with wiikey no issues.

Wiikey with 3.1U. Everything works fine.
It just adds more support for a USB keyboard.

just got my wiikey installed and update the wii to 3.1u. installed the 1.9 update and worked fine, my backups work fine but cannot load the set up disk to save my life. gc logo comes up but when hit start error comes out. Try to install 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 same thing happen with all three.
burned at 4x, 2x, 1x on the same media of the games dvd-r. i have read every thread but nothing works, anybody as suggestion? i will like to play some pal back up. thx in advance.

you might have to get the gcos to get it to work.

I found this gcos dvd . It loads fine , not sure if its what i need, goes to menu and it has a boot dvd option and credits, but i guess i need a gc controller to navigate this. So I have to get one and see if this will let me load the set up disk 1.3.

you don't need gcos with the 1.3 setup disc. I think you might be having a different issue.
If you DID get it to load, you can use the reset button to navigate

neoweapon you are the shiznet. got the gc controller and load the gc multi disc hit boot. message cames up insert cd and voila , all the folders come up and i just clicked on boot one and the setup come up.

I had a few questions about the update. I am sure I am just being paranoid but I just modded my few a few days ago with the wiikey.
How many notices did you guys get in your wii? I got 3. One about new vote channel update, one about new update with usb, and a notice about the user agreement? Did everyone get the same?
Since this I removed my wii from 24online and even removed the online connection. Am I just being paranoid about them knowing my wii is modded? Should I just relax and do the updates?
Also, ever since I got my wii modded the votes channel was way off. Would say that there was 300+ days until the vote was over. I have tried to adjust the date, but no change. Has this happened to anyone else?
