Is there a way to amplify the receiving strength of the PS3 wifi antenna?

Interesting idea here's A pic i found of the wifi and bt antennas.




I'm no expert but i think that silver and black oval thing in the top right corner is the omnidirectional antenna. If you run the correct wires from it to an external antenna it might be possible. It would be one heck of alot of mod work though. It would be better just to get a range extender in between the ps3 and the wireless router.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, that looks like the antenna and it looks like a pain in the ass to do anything with. I looked into wireless bridges, but the prices were nuts. Was hoping we could just stick a big assed antenna somewhere like some people did with the Wii.

lol ^.^' shes a tad more complex than the wii but i wouldnt say its totally out of the question, but lets let some nut job try it first then we'll just use his guide lol...
