If you use your friends NAND DUMP of his PSP..
there's a high chance that your NAND is going to be corrupted too....

Has anyone heard of someone getting a brick by just backing up the NAND using the Universal Unbricker V3?

I read on another site that said it is safer to use the "Open Source NAND Dumper v0.1 for the PSP Slim" because others have had issues using the NAND backup on Universal Unbricker V3.

I always thought it was recommended to make a NAND backup before performing any installation of custom firmware. If this is the case then it would seem the Universal Unbricker V3 backup would be safer then the above application. because in order to use the above application you have to install custom firmware to the PSP before use.

I have never backed up the NAND before but am going to start doing it due to all the resent newbies coming to the site with issue on formating the flash0/flash1 when trying to recover or install custom firmware to the PSP.

I'm not sure about your battery problem, but to get your battery back to normal you go to your XMB > Settings > System Settings > Format Memory stick. Follow the steps and then it'll format it and then you will be able to use your memry stick as a normal memory stick again. Make sure to back up all saved data from games because this deletes everything on your memory stick.

Instead of posting 4 times, edit your first post with new information unless someone posts after you.

Rename nand.bin to nandimage.flash place it in the root of the Magic Memory Stick (Universal Unbricker V3) then use that and a Pandora Battery to restore it.
