Even when you try and create a new connection though? Make sure your PS3 is connected to the internet and working, then create a new connection and try it.

Thought i'd drop in to see what the soc3 question was as i had noth'n better to do,i'm not sure i should've popped in coz the question has got me scratch'n my head,on the one hand you want to play S3 with the PS3 yet your next post says not detecting the PS2 network adaptor,so i would assume you don't have a PS3 but either an older Fat PS2 or a slimline which comes with a built in ethernet card,the FAT PS2 does not have a built in ether card but uses a seperate component which attaches to the rear of it which is why you have the error message,you either have no adaptor or it's faulty,so how close am i ..lol..

The error he is getting is from the game...it was released before the PS3, so it is assuming it is running on a PS2. Thats why it sayd it cant find the PS2 network adapter. The PS3 should emulate the PS2 adapter.

Can you connect to the internet from teh XMB of the PS3?

to scorpNZ i do have a PS3 and thats what it says when i try to connect to the internet with socom 3.I found the problem. I had an 80G PS3 and from what i have been hearing when they made the 80G they took away some of the backwards compatability (however its spelled)so i found a solution. I took my 80G back to the store and traded for a 60G and now it works perfect with no hassle. I guess if you have an 80G PS3 then you cant play PS2 games online.

A friend of mine has an 80 and is able to get on socom online.
