When you say to disable all themes or you'll get a brick, do you mean I have to just disable themes from the XMB ( I can do that) or do you mean to replace your flash0 file with your original untouched flash0 ( I don't think I can do this). I'm trying to go from a 3.95 gen 2 to whatever your thread says because I mucked up the flash0 folder a bit. I can still access and use XMB and play games, I only get a hang/freeze/crash if I highlight the memory stick item under the different categories of the XMB.

If you just have a theme that runs from your memory stick like a cxmb deal-thats fine, just disable it. But if you have a theme that has been manually placed on your flash, you will need to replace the files in your flash0 before you can get started.

I'm running cfw 3.90M33-3 and I've installed UPMS Installer on my memory stick and gotten through most of the menus. The problem I'm running into is downgrading. I can't seem to figure out how to downgrade from 3.90M33-3 to 3.80M33-5.

I did the menu 3 install with the left trigger for the dc3v folder installation. Now I'm looking at menu 4 and if I do the 352-M33, 371-M33, or the 380-M33 install, I go the system information in my psp and it still says 3.90M33-3. I've tried the whole holding down the left trigger to start the dcv3 folder and nothing happens. It still boots up in the XMB screen. Is there something else I'm not doing right? Please help me out here.

Hi guys. New here. I have done a few psp's using v3 of UPMS. So anyways I used my fat psp to flash my friends slim psp (TA-085v2) and followed the directions. I copied all the .pbp's, chose the option to install 3.90 m33 and it all flashed ok, didnt come up with errors *except when i was doing the backup portion before DC5 loaded, it said bad block while backing up*. Once it was done flashing psp turned off. I removed pandora batt and UPMS and inserted original battery. Here is where the psp now loads to the background (wavy background) however no XMB comes up , and after about 30 seconds it just shuts off. If i hold the R trigger while loading, it loads to the m33 recovery menu. Anyone hear of this before? what could i try to restore it? Thanks

I've had this a couple of times, normally solved by resetting the settings by flashing.

Knowing that 4.00M33 is getting released, I'd thought that I should just try to install the UPMS again. I've re-download the CSO file but it looks like is V3. When installing UPMS, it checks only for 150.PBP, 371.PBP, 380.PBP and UPDATE.PBP. No 390.PBP. I'm not worried but I think that it's a bit weird. It seems to show every file it's installing into my MS so V3 should work - like it used to. If you didn't mean link to V3, I think you should change the link.

I checked the link and downloaded the file-it looks to be correct. It is the UPMS V4 installer from noob911.com

If you use the V3 it will work to get you started, but you will then need to add the updates manually as I think you can only install up to 3.80M33-5 with the V3 version. I would try downloading the cso again from the first page of this thread, that is the latest version.

Weird. I can only upgrade to 3.80M33-5 with my UPMS. Oh well. I don't think that I need to update it - I just need it in case my PSP bricks.

That can be done via the recovery menu on your psp-
To access recovery mode first power down your psp completely by holding the power switch up for about 5 seconds.
After its been powered off completely, press and hold the R trigger button while powering the psp back on-You will be presented with the M33 recovery menu.
You want to navigate to registry hacks and you should find the option to switch the X/O configuration
Once you make the change, then navigate back to the main menu and select exit-your psp will restart retaining the newly made changes.

Thanks for the tip dEEZ_nUtz :-)

Any idea how to convert a pandora battery back to a normal one using UPMS V.4?

I thought I had it all figured out.. but now I'm not so sure.

In the second step where you create the battery, there is also the option to restore the battery as well. When you created the battery it should have made a backup of your battery's eeprom automatically for you, and saved it to your memory stick-Provided you haven't erased your memory stick, there should be a file on the root of your memory stick named 'eeprom.bin' that is the serial for your battery. Just select the option to restore your battery, and it should restore it just fine-If you lost the eeprom file, then there is also an option to generate a random serial for your battery in step #2 also.

The UPTinstaller is another program that is similar to UPMS-it was developed by another party. As far as doing anything with the files you downloaded, if you already have a working UPMS rig, then you are good. The UPTInstaller V4.3 is for those already running 4.01M33CFW and wish to create a pandora setup. Other versions of UPMS or UPT will cause a brick if you are running 4.01M33CFW and you try to make a pandora setup.

dEEz_nUtz, UPT is the ongoing development from my self after leaving UPMS-Project, UPMSInstaller will never be updated as UPMS-Project no longer exists. I re-branded it to UPT and this will continue to be updated and will be from PSP4Noobz.com.
