Make sure the WLAN switch is turned off, I have found a few probs with UL not showing up if this is turned on, might be something to do with Hellcats Menu.

(so far i managed to get to a black screen with a faint light no menu in pandora yet) any help ? :)

Do you have a Fat or Slim psp, also do you have a pandora bat and ms set.

If you do have all of the above and your on a slim then do this.

Remove bat
put mms in slot
push power switch down to hold
hold left trigger
insert battery
Slim should startup then shutdown.
Remove bat
push power switch to normal
hold left trigger
insert battery
ultimate loader should now boot.

I just followed this guide and everything worked perfectly! I used a PSP with firmware 3.03 OE-C to create the Pandora battery and magic stick. Next I upgraded a second PSP with OFW 3.72 to 3.80 M33-5 and then also upgraded the first PSP directly to 3.80 M33-5 as well!

I have used this guide several times and have successfully downgrade 2 slims and 3 fat psp.

This is the problem:

After I make the pandora battery and MS. I insert my MS first, hold L down and then put battery into PSP FAT. THE PSP SCREEN GETS STUCK ON THE ULIMATE LOADER SCEEN, I CANNOT MOVE THE CURSOR like it froze.

I tried this on another fat and the cursor successfully. The other PSP is working fine.

Sny suggestions

I kept getting the "memory card cannot be read" error after installing the UPMS, which lead to the installer not loading on the psp i.e. black screen with just green light. I know quiet alot of people are getting this problem.

I solved it by making sure my psp is plugged into the ac adapter before I did step 3 of the installer. Now it works for me

Hope that helps everyone.

I'm back :)

Anyways, I want to ask, if I selected NO, for installing UPDATE.PBP, does the UPDATE.PBP (1.50 EBOOT?) go into the root of the MS? Thanks.

In case anyone was wondering what the MUX 2.1 is, or how to use it-
MUX essentially creates multiple copies of your ms0:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE folder for those of you who want to back up multiple update folders from different custom firmwares-Such as the new 3.90M33, along with the 1.50 kernel patch for 3.90.

Heres how to add the 3.90M33+1.50 kernel patch update to your UPMS rig:
-download 3.90M33 Update, Official 3.90 FW, and 1.50 kernel patch

hello there ,
and thanks for all your help.this thread is worth its weight in gold.

i have done everything you said in your post about upgrading to
- Connect your psp with UPMS inserted to your computer via USB
- Navigate to the PSP/GAME/MUX21 folder
- Inside you will find folders labled as follows: UPDATE_1,UPDATE_2,and so on..
- Copy the contents of the 3.90M33Update folder you downloaded (the eboot only-not the UPDATE folder itself) to PSP/GAME/MUX21/UPDATE_1
- Rename the Official 3.90 update you downloaded to '390.PBP', and place that also in the PSP/GAME/MUX21/UPDATE_1 folder
- Copy the contents of the 150k_addon folder you downloaded (the four files only) and place those in the PSP/GAME/MUX21/UPDATE_2 folder.
- Disconnect the USB connection
- Start up the MUX 2.1 app under the GAME menu in XMB
- Now you should see the listing of the UPDATE folders
- Position the X to the UPDATE 1 spot
- Press O to label or rename the spot to 3.90M33 Update
- When you are done labeling press O to save it, and return to the main listing
- With the X positioned on the UPDATE 1 spot, go ahead and press X to 'aktivate' UPDATE X as UPDATE-your files are now in the right place on your memory stick for updating to 3.90M33
- Now position the X to the UPDATE 2 spot
- Press O to label that one as 1.50 Kernel Add on
- Press O to save when done labeling
- With the X positioned on the UPDATE 2 spot, go ahead and press [](square) to 'aktivate' UPDATE X as GAME-your files are now in the right place on your memory stick for the 1.50 kernel add-on

-This is especially nice for those of us who were swapping memory sticks because as you know you can only have one update folder on your memory stick...So as custom firmware updates become available, they can just be dropped into one of the UPDATE folders via MUX..
hello there i am trying to go from 3.8 to 3.9 ,i have done everything you stated in your thread ,i have moved all the files to the relevant folders ,but how do i update now i have moved the files?

If you put the files in the correct folders, and have been activated via MUX, they (the updates) will show up under the GAME icon in the psp menu.

I imagine eventually it will be stickied-
But as long as people keep posting messages on this thread, it will stay towards the top of the first page...

**Updated guide to reflect the new installer link, and new features**

** If your psp is a TA82 and running firmware 3.80M33+ you will not be able to use the reboot function from within U.P.M.S.

i don't get it. i have a ta-082 psp as well with 3.90m33. so does this mean i can't use this installer guide?

You can use the installer and everything just fine, you just wont be able to use the 'reboot' function from within the ultimate loader menu-which is really not that big of a deal. It is just an added feature that reboots or shuts off your psp from the UL menu.
