I connect my PS3 to my lcd monitor using hdmi to dvi, my monitor doesnt have speakers so now i need sound.
I have speakers but the input for those is like the headphone jack so obviously that has no place in the ps3. Anyone know what i can do apart from a Toslink converter for optical cable.
Any Av suggestions, can i use my tv for sound lol

Well you already have the video setup, so I assumed you were using an adaptor to convert HDMI to DVI.
The adaptor that carbongtr mentioned is the one I linked to in my previous post ( http://www.amazon.com/RCA-Stereo-Headpho...6/dp/B00005T3GH )
You should find that in most electronics stores, ask for an "RCA to Headphone adaptor"

What are you plugging it into for sound? I doubt it uses a headphone jack as an input, its more than likely an output.
EDIT: Yes you could use you TV for sound, just run the Red and White composite cables that came with the PS3 into your TV then switch to whatever AV channel you plugged it into.

Yeah thats what im doing lol.
So what would i plug that Jack into then? The Speaker system has no inputs only an output, im just going to buy a Toslink converter and an optical cable. Hd is amazing, to think ive been using my old tv all this time, its completely different gaming experience so anyone who reads this you must get one even if its a lcd monitor!

Your speaker system SHOULD have at least one type of input.
But I know what your talking about with HD, I plugged my PS3 into my brothers 42" Sony Bravia (1080p) damn Resistance looked good. SD just cant compare to HD, I really need to get a HDTV or Monitor.

I'm currently connecting a PS3 to my Dell widescreen 20" moniter which is no problem with the HDMI-DVI but I have good pc speakers with the same problem you have. It has only that green output plug. What adapter did you use and where can I find it? I also found a Audio converter that has a headphone jack and plugs into a USB 2.0 but It sais it requires windows so I'm not sure. Does the PS3's USB 2.0 ports work with pretty much anything?
