Wouldn't that just increase the chances of a bridge once you start soldering the PCB onto the pins?
if you look at the mounting points , when you attach the flexpcb to the board it gives another solid connection point , when i did mine i followed this method and it helped a great deal as i just remelted the points to 'tack' the flexpcb in place once it was lined up , its kinda like spot welding on a small scale.
hi that what i think i done coz i dident finish the mod once i seen the mess up i removed the chip and tryed it back in the wii it dosent read games and when i go to the wii people scrren it go s off. can anyone help tryed fixing problem buy removing solder but still no luck. and can anyone also tell me if the pre modded bords on consolesource.com do they work ok with the argon chip . thanks in advance
Just got my chip in and am collecting all the info I need for install. Can you tell me what size wire I should use for this?
I have also purchased the flex PCB. This way if I back out or just want someone else to do it I'll be able to give them the option to use the PCB or not, but think I may try the wire install myself.

We use jbc advanced series soldering stations with 0.3mm tips.
We use Almit 0,5mm solder with some Ag (silver) and bit lower melting point than "regular" solder.
hi there , which solder was it on the almit site they have a few on there KR-19 SH RMA Ag
Just completed my D2CKey install on my PAL console using wire, a $15 soldering iron, and a whole mess of patience. Really happy because it worked! It plays Wii backups great, both PAL and NTSC, however, it doesn't play GC backups.
When I put a GC game in, it recognises it's a GC game in the Wii Menu, but when i load it, it shows a black screen and dies. I'm not sure what to do... any tips? I've heard of something called GCOS - should I pursue this?
If you don't mind me asking, What size wire did you use for your install? Sorry I can't help with your question. The only thing I can think is to check and make sure you did not bridge any connections with a magnifying glass.
