Is there any way I can hook up my ps3 to a computer monitor. I heard I need at least a 24" lcd one, but then how would I get sound? Could I use my logitch headset for sound. Any information on this would be great.

yea.. just use hdmi to dvi cable.. for sound.. you can get adapters that will conver your regular av cables to conect to your computer speakers. or connect it to something that supports optical audio..
i have tested my ps3 on my 19" dell monitor for fun and it works no problems. i also got an adapter to output sound to my 2.1 speakers and it sounds great

It doesn't need to be a certain size, but it must be HDCP, I bought a 23" Sceptre without it and I had to get an adapter for it to work. My 22" Samsung has HDCP so it works fine up to 1080p. If you use component cables with an adapter, you don't need this, it's only for HDMI.

Look on the manufacturer's website and see. Mine has a native resolution (what it looks best at) of 1680x1050. This is above 720p but below 1080p. It runs 1080p perfectly but it gives me a message saying that it's above optimum resolution (which goes away after 10 seconds) or when I press menu. Just check online and look around for a good one. Another thing to lookout for: monitors are 16:10 aspect ratio, games are 16:9. It's not a big deal and I can't tell the difference, but it's something to keep in mind when you're shopping around.

my general rule of thumb is that pretty much all 24" lcd monitors and up will be 1080p... 1920 x 1200 resolution is what it should say... its quite odd but i've also seen some 23" monitors state the same. im also considering buying a 24" lcd monitor to use it with my ps3 but at the same time with my pc. im just waiting for some good deals

I used to game on a dell 19" lcd, it had hdcp and it looked great. I used a hdmi to dvi adaptor, and i played sound using the av cable to my speakers worked fine, you have to set audio to av from the ps3 xmb.

it will.. do you have vga output or dvi? if you have vga.. you're going to have to use an hdmi to dvi and dvi to vga adapter or cable.. and for sound just use the av cables and use an adapter to output it to your computer speakers

My Syncmaster 220WM does the same thing. It just means that it's above the recommended resolution. I bet this happens when you're running 1080p. It's totally fine. It's about a 10-20 second time out or as you found out, go up and press menu. There's no way to disable this warning, just run 720p. On that size of monitor, you won't notice a huge difference. The difference between 1080 and 720 on my 22" is barely noticeable.

It is probably that the PS3 isn't sending the signal though the hdmi, plug it all in and when you turn on the ps3 hold in the power button for 5-10 seconds until it beeps and it will auto detect your setup and it should work.
