Hi guys,

i bought my Ps3 60GB Europe version. I then updated the firmware from 1.60 to 1.90 in order to play the games included.
Then last nite i decided to join the ps3 network so then i needed to update to the latest firmware 2.01.
So i used the online update method.
It was copied to the harddrive.

I started the install, it got to around 60 or 70% and the console reset itself. It then rebooted and said press the PS button to continue update. it restarted and all i can see is a blank screen.
I've tried a soft reset. Don't know what else to do!

Can anybody help Please!!

Hold down the power button for like 15 seconds until you hear a few beeps and it'll do a reset. See if this fixes it.

i just tried that, but it just beeps and turns on then it gives another beep which does nothing and just powers off on the third beep. thanks for the reply

ya i called sony and they told me to do a soft reset as above, then to take out the hard drive and put it back in agian. But no good.
i'm just worried about if i get a new one, the same thing will happen again. cos i don't think i did anything worng on my part. i'm used to firmware updates like these since i have a PSP.
